To me the actual socket looks really rough around the edges.  Like there has been a lot of friction if thats the right work.  They are not deep in the socket, the xray is really clear. and you can see the covering at the back really well.

I would have to agree too.  Sorry.

she is not straight on the x-rays, this wouldn't be good enough for SV, although the left socket doesnt look to good but needs clarification with proper x-ray.

She's not in pain, and has never been lame, she even tested positive for Lyme at  2 years old.
She also leaped from my moving pick-up truck at 2 years old, I had her and about 4 others in the back of the truck with the cap on it, and she opened it and jumped out, I think I was going about 25 mph, things like that don't figure in do they...

I may redo them and ship them off to SV, I would want a better x-ray to send off

I am not sure if this is a daft question but why are you having a 7 year old x-rayed and potentially scored if she is not showing any signs of a problem?

Hutch,
Why not? Honestly, how can you get a good picture of the GSD hip and elbow health picture if more dogs aren't scored?? Not being argumentative or anything like that, but the way I look at it as many people as possible should submit xrays of their GSD. It helps the breed as a whole.

I don't disagree that the more dogs that are scored the better the picture we have as breeders but as hips do deteriorate to some extent with age and this girl is not showing any physical signs of a problem and she isn't going to be bred from (?) then I was just curious why?

I see the remodeling, but not the subluxation. Beckett's said the same thing, but on the x-ray you could see the right hip was not seated deep in the socket...to me both look properly seated, unless they are saying that there must be subluxation at times, because there's all that remodeling....but I thought they are supposed to evaluate just what they see, & not draw conclusions from what they surmise must be happening. JMHO jackie harris BTW, very poor positioning. If this was an x-ray to determine breed worthiness, I'd do it over.
