What do you think of this male? About 2 years, wasnt on full coat when photo was taken. Please critique. Thanks

Very good youngster with obviously male head and outlook. Excellent angles fore and rear, would like more bone but that may look better when he gets his full coat. Strong body and topline. Probably thr right size - difficult to be sure when he cant be compared to anything. I guess his lead has been 'removed' from the photo.
I just have an inkling that he may be stood a little cow-hocked.

Is he your dog or are you thinking of using him on a bitch that you own ?

Dogshome9 : he is my dog and i have never used him on any of my bitch, yet. well what do you think?

trac123: thanks and yes the leash and collar had been removed as this picture was in a magazine. he had loose hocks when he first arrived from germany, not very bad, but it could be better, but i exercise him everyday on the beach and the hocks are getting better.

OK then I will tell you That I do like him very much. Even though it is a still photo he has great reach, very masculine head and a high long wither, good length to height proportions and very good pigment.

I wish you well with him. Do you have a link to his pedigree?

Hello there

Your boy has very nice proportions. He has sufficient bone for his age although I think he will still mature nicely.I am impressed with the motion pic ,because many dogs drop the head when in motion ,and this causes the wither to drop. But in the case of your dog ,he maintains his wither very nicely ,and seems to be fluent in movement. His condition is good(from the pic), and he has good dark colour...It's always good to see a fine specimen of a German Shepherd Dog.Regards,

Frank (SA)
