Any suggestions - Page 1

     Picked up GSD Sherman at kennel  after 3 nights and was told  he had diarrhea and was given Pepto-Bismal and not feed for a day and now okay.  I did the normal feed next day and diarrhea returned then feed Sherman rice and cooked hamburg suggested by Vet on a prior incident and now on the third day Sherman gagged up a 6" X 4" piece of material and later that same day passed large amounts of cotton with small amounts blood on it, continued with rice and hamburg and  nothing happened on the fourth day, the fifth day passed normal stool along with large piece of cotton with small amount of blood on it.  This is a small 10 dog kennel and the owner had suggested a dog bed to sleep on and it is now obvious the bed is the culprit.  Sherman is a 100lb GSD and appears to be normal.   Any suggestions for now as we do have appointment with vet tomorrow.       jasmit

sorry cant offer much help,just to say that my young dog swallowed a large sock and after four days he began to be sick and needed surgery to remove the artical,the main problem my vet had was not knowing until they took it out and found it whole how much if any of the material was left in his intestines.as your boy is passing bits of fairly large size i would be worried how much is still in there.hope he is back to normal very soon.

Never use the kennel again.
