My favored line (11b?) is greatly influenced by Ex v Reidstern. Ex ~> Ingo v Rudingen (3-2 on Ex) > Held v Ritterberg (mother 2-2 on Bernd Lierberg) > Bero v Friedersdorfer flur (5,4-4,5,4 on Ex).
Many of my dogs went to Held, and pretty much all of them went to Ex. Faro Policia was linebred 3-2 on Bero, the nearest/most DDR blood of his pedigree.
I crossed Faro to a line 13a(?) female who's herself linebred 3-4,5 on Alf v Körnersee.
When I backcross again toward the DDR blood, it will be with further emphasis on Faro, Bero and Held. I don't care much for line 13.

Much of what I needed to improve in the DDR female was provided for by Faro. I only kept one female from the resulting litter (the line 11 & 13 combo), who was to my taste too handler-soft, but otherwise a very good balance of working drives, biddability, and aggression.
I think the biggest problem with line 13a, is considering how to get out of line 13a. IOW, what to outcross with. Too many people are still trying to maintain the "100% DDR" slogan for campaigning their litters, and line 13a is the most easily available and most linebred upon today.
The shortcomings I find, may not be the same as experienced by others, given my limited exposure. So, be sure to consult other breeders of that DDR line before drawing any serious conclusions.

since the lines are mixed up , and most dogs are outcrossed from here to hell and back , there is no answer to that question im my opinion , and no ones one or two dogs are representing a whole line
find a breeder that breeds quality stock and has proven again and again to have made right breeding choices , look for a breeder with quality females and look to what they produced before
forget about breeders that breed the flavour of the day
forget about breeders that buy a male , breed it to everything they have for a year or two ,than buy a new male , and so on
good luck

I'm just really interested in finding out more about DDR dogs. I've read just about everything I can find on the internet, now it's down to trying to find individuals who know more about the lines and dogs themselves and picking their brains. I actually have no other purpose in this except to gain more knowledge about DDR dogs then I have now. I just find them kind of interesting.
