Hello,
My girl was OFA prelim'ed Good. I run 20 + miles per week. I was once told to hold off on substantial running on pavement until dogs were 2. Any thoughts or experience from hip knowledgeable posters? She's muscular and lean @ 65 lbs.
Thanks.

IMHO If the hips are good they will always be good....if they are bad they will only get worse.

Personally I wouldn't consider hips to be the only issue with excessive exercise whilst a dog is immature.

I`m with AMGIgsd on this one, I have NEVER restricted my dogs or pups exercise, but never done it to their excess - just let them do what they are comfortable with, and its not let me down. You will know if your dog is comfortable, or excessively tired after the exercise you wish to do..... go with the dogs reaction. Mo.

......neither you or your hund should run on pavement...it will get you later on,,hard on the joints..run trails ..parks ..more scenic and you aren,t inhaling exhaust fumes etc into your already stressed lungs ..same for the hund..
