Brittany, You have good taste. I'll share a little of what I know about her. I met her last August before she went SG18 in Ulm. Her motherline is one of two that have been developed by the Zenteiche kennel. Both have produced VA and consistent high placed dogs in Germany. Lana's record speaks for itself and I'm sure there will be a new picture for the Urma book. Her strength goes beyond her place at the sieger shows. Lana's mother was VA5 Xana. This was a very good litter from a mother, Laura that was not the highest placing dog from the litter. Laura's sister Linda was top 20 and Laura was around 100. As it turned out the lower placing dog may have been the better producer driving home Walter Martin's comments on breeding. Basically get the genetics, don't look at the show placing necessarily. Laura produced excellent dogs in every litter. Her son Focus Marraue showed successfully in the working male class. I believe she's now in Canada. Getting back to Xana, VA5 in Germany and VA1 in the US, she was positioned to go even higher in Germany but was out of coat for the sieger show so she wasn't shown. Xana's sister Xara was sold to China and went VA1 in China. Xana's sister Xandra is here with me and was VA5 in the US. Three VA sisters in one litter. When you look past Laura there are many high placing females in the motherline indicating a strong motherline. Much credit should be given to the Zenteiche kennel for their breeding program. The kennel has only a few litters each year and always exceptional dogs as illustrated by their consistent high placings at the sieger show. They have been instrumental in this country developing the Mittelwest program. The Mittelwest rise to #1 in the US can be traced to some foundation dogs from the Zenteiche kennel. I'm sure you want to know about the working abilities in the lines. Lana went off at 9:00 and I was at the young dogs ring so I did not see her performance. From what I heard it was excellent. I can comment on her mother's litter as I have first hand knowledge. Xandra is an egar dog to work. When it's training time she's enthusiastic and ready to go until she drops. On the protection field, she accepts pressure well, works through it without an avoidance or flight tendancy. She will go straight to a helper as a helper goes straight to her. Her guard is very dominant. She was snapping in the helper's face on Long Island when I did her resurvey. There's more to her personality and to her work but it would take hours to write what a great dog she has been for me. So congratulations to Lana, Christoph, and Silke! I'm sure we will be seeing more from her in generations to come.
