I have recently come across a young female who is linebred
•5 - 5............................................. in Kaso z Pohraniční strá¿e CS
•3 - 4............................................. in SG Grim z Pohraniční strá¿e CS
From those who have experience with these lines, what might be expected in regards to temperament, structure and size?
Thanks in advance,
Mary

Genetics is a game of percentages and you must know all posible outcomes too give any educated statement on the topic.
Hans Prager (on here) would be your best resource as he knows these dogs and lines well and if there isnt something he can answer his business partner(czech breed warden) created those lines so Im sure you can get a solid answer from him. Neither of which are kennel blind and will give you the truth on these dogs. Both are great guys.

It is so hard to find "real" information on the czech dogs. People seem to have opinions, or they want to keep their knowledge close.
This particular dog is still quite young and has been passed around a few times already. She is small, a bit insecure, but lively, loving and energetic at home. I would love to know if this is normal for the pedigree, and what other strengths and weaknesses might be expressed.

Mary,
what you probably want to ask, is what purpose are you using the dog
for Home protection, Shutzund, SAR. Breeding, etc... etc.. Prager will need
to Know this info. as its essential for him to answer your question in some depth. so
give him as much info. on dog and your purpose 1st so when He hits this thread
he can give you great Feed Back.
I did look at the Pedigree and I do see some Great dogs in the
pedigree CHuligan , Pluto, Grim, Tina just to name a few. The key is when the Sire and
Dam where Bred did the breeder Have all the knowledge of the ancestors in mind when
doing the mating as to produce a improvement to the GSD. Prager believes that when one
mates these Great Czech Dogs one must consult or Know in depth each Dog in the pedigree
as much as possible to bring about the best in the bloodlines. The Czech Dogs are so great
because behind these great Dogs were great Minds whom not only knew Genetics and studied them
for years , but also knew the dogs in depth, the Parents must compliment each other to create the best
possible working dogs.
I'm Sure Prager will go into more detail but I'm sure he'll agree that its the time and Knowledge
spent in the" trenches", so to speak that gives Guys like Prager/Jiri & a few others such a great grasp of
what these dog can do and how to strengthen and bring about what your looking to get out of each
special breeding. Unfortunately , some breeders have just paired some Czech dogs together just for the
sake of a litter, not all dogs compliment each other..........But I will not make any judgment on this mating as
I'm Not qualified , as Prager is to answer your exact questions.
Good Luck.
