Use of Gravel - Page 1

I just added a layer of about 3 inches of gravel stone at the kennel' runs. The gravel size I used vary from 1 to 3 inches. The dogs do not look quite happy running and staying on it as they re not really stable on it. Is is something temporaly until they get used to it? Should I add another layer of a smaller size? Does it really help to keep the feet compact? Would appreciate any of your comments and ideas.
