Birmingham and District GSD Association at their AGM tonight betrayed the breed that it was set up to promote by voting to sign the KC undertaking.

Blackmail

All because the KC openly threatened to take away obedience CCs in an e-mail to the secretary and the small number of people at the meeting would not believe that they cannot do that.

The argument was that the club could not survive without the money from the obedience shows. But what if is the money for? It sits in a bank account and is used to support failing obedience clubs which have more non GSDs than GSDs. Who lost sight of the fact that this is a BREED ASSOCIATION and the obedience show is not the purpoe of it's existence?

I am so angry!

NOT FORGETTING THAT THE GENERAL SECRETARY WHO IS AN OBEDIENCE COMPETITOR THROUGH AND THROUGH   (AND NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT) ALSO WORKING A BORDER COLLIE -  RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM MR ANDREW WINFROW WITH HIS KENNEL CLUB HAT ON, IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS. TO REINFORCE HIS KC VIEWS ON HER THAT SHE WOULD LOSE BIRMINGHAM AND DISTRICT TICKETS TOTALLY TOO.

YOU CANT BLAME HER FOR BELIEVING THIS IF SHE IS TELEPHONED PERSONALLY TO TELL HER THAT "BECAUSE IT IS SO IMPORTANT AND BECAUSE HE FEELS VERY STRONGLY THAT I (MO lAKIN) HAVE THE WRONG VIEW ON IT.

WHAT YOU CAN BLAME HER FOR IS THE RIGGING THAT WENT ON THIS EVENING IN THE WAY THAT IT HAPPENED.

A VERY DISGUSTED MO.

You know the old saying Mo, "every dog has its' day".  This was never going to be an overnight thing, but a great start has been made and nobody is going to let this go now.

The meeting was attended by Dennis Ashley - a member of the KC on the obedience side.

He was also prepared with the blackmail - he contended that all that the people were interested in was qualifying for Crufts and the fact that the agility people do their own thing means that they can't qualify for Crufts. Strange that the agility situation is one that Mum and I have "discussed" with Andy on numerous occasions.

What does qualifying for Crufts have to do with betterment of the breed? In the past I seem to remember that there was a Crufts BIS / BOB that reeked havoc through the breed by passing on epilepsy - what was his name?.......

These threats and intimidation need reporting to the media. Under the Unfair Competition rules I am sure the KC is on very shakey ground to even imply they will remove your Obedience CC;s , never mind actually removing them, the problem here is that the KC are BULLY's trying to drain our breed of its life blood with AW is acting like the slave who provides Dracula with all his dastedly needs, in the hope that one day he will reap his personal reward. He sold his soul for KC membership and is now helping to sell our breed out to them as well, sadly these people who put self promotion before the good of the breed have no concience to the damage they do on the way or how many colleagues & breed enthusiasts they double cross on the way. I often wonder how such people still manage to sleep at night but have always noticed not one of them has ever been able to stand up straight, look me in the eye and repeat their crap to my face.

In answer to Hutch, the Cruft's BIS winners that passed on epilepsy  was Nibelung of Charavigne who was by Quadrille of Eveley and Ramacon Swashbuckler who was by Ramacon Philanderer.  The repeat mating of Swashbuckler produced two very good dogs in their day Ramacon Vibart and Virginia, both epileptic.

this is the sort of folk we need - informed, knowledeable, and willing to give input to a question I looked at, and quite honestly wondered where I would get the info from.
Thanks Mackanzie and at the end of the day the point is made...... not regarding the name of the dog, but he was given BEST IN SHOW at the CRUFTS dog show.   This gives rise to the damage that can be done by only looking at beauty on the day   Mo.
