We have a 11 week old female GSD that has drive and loves to play with the cats and my 7 year old poodle. The poodle has had enough!! it now growls at the puppy when she's whihin a 5 foot radius. My poodle is now mad at us as well. The puppy just want's to play, but she doesn't know when to stop, even when the poodle tries to check her. Any suggestions please!!! The poodle is becoming stressed.

Is your poodle a small dog and you are worried because you feel she will get hurt? When the pup gets bit enough she MAY back off. But if after a week of getting bit and still not stopping the rough play then I feel you need to step in and say enough is enough. You can play but only if you are gentle, this takes time to teach and it will work well for when children are around.  Have your trainer help you with this behavior modificaton, because you have to do it right the first time out of the box.
Always,
Cee

My advise is to rotate the dogs and keep them seperate untill the puppy matures some.  When you have one in the kennel allow the other free range so they can greet one another with out fighting.  This will take a while.  but in the long run you will see a lot less fighting.

This is the same way i introduce my dog aggresive gsd and non aggresive pit bull.  After the gsd accepted the pitbull as a pack member there was no agression.  They actually ignore each other and play every once in a whle.

Your situation is different in that the puppy is imature compared to the other dog.  The puppy will continue to play like puppies do untill he matures in his mind.  And that will take time.  If this makes sense try it.

It is not a fast solution but i think it will work.

by the way i got the gsd at 1.5 years old the pit was nearly the same age
