I know this topic has been posted over and over, though i need to satisfy my paranoia....
I have a 5 month old working line male pup, he has two visible testes though they are not in a scrotal sac. He does not have a sac at all, his testes are just 2 visible lumps on either side of the base of his penis.
Is this an cryptorchid issue, I DO NOT want him neutered. Educated opinions would be much appreciated.
Regards

I would be more inclined to think that the 2 visible lumps on either side of the base of his penis are not his testes. They are more likely part of the mechanism of the penis when a bitch is mated, those 2 bulges are what forms the tie.
If there's no scrotal sac... then I'd get a vet to try and find out where they are hiding.

Sorry my description was not the best. I did see a vet about 2 months ago and these lumps that I’m referring to, are his testes. I do intend on going back to the vet in the near future, though I thought I may get a few opinions on here before I attend and fork out for another consult.
I’m getting anxious as the vet said that I should become concerned at the 6 month mark, if all was not well.

Did your vet do an ultrasound?

hmmm.... my initial thought was exactly the same as AmbiiGSD, if the testicles are not in the scrotum you usually can't see them but have to do a lot of feeling inside or ultrasound to find them....

sometimes those are lymph nodes not testicles

My male had both testicles descended when I took him but then the right went back up and we could see it subcu. and move it back down. Kept checking and it's not coming down and can't see it anymore subcu. So now he has only one down and don't know where the other is. He is almost 9 months now and I've given up hope that the other will drop. Sucks but, hey I can still work him and he's going great! Wish you the best with your pup!
