Hi, If you guys have watched closely you might remember some of my posts regarding some pups. Right now I am going to say one thing I am an american but I live overseas and the I register my dogs with a FCI orginization not with the AKC..... Ok So i had a litter of pups. both pups were going to the same person to pay for both breeding and for a nother dog. I said ok the pups were going to be registered under my kenel name. Ok at 4 weeks The guy calls me and say's " He wants to take pictures and see the pups and how they are developing" normal right??? well I said ok. He comes over with a friend looks at the pups admires them picks them up holds them and then he says he is taking them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said no they are to yound We talk We yell he and his friend are still holding the pups I can;t get him to put them down. I am a smal female and my friend is even thiner than I am. Whe had no way of stopping him. He said that they were his anyway and so if he took them now of in a few weeks it was all the same to him I argude and yelled and told him he wasn't a true breeder and stuff . He said GET THIS that " I sould be glad to get rid of them" I told him maybe for you it is good to get RID of pups but I love my dogs and it is never fun to get rid of my babies. What should I do??? The poor things are so small. I said if you leave the apartment with thoughs pups you will not get the paper work he laughed and left. I could not beleive it!!! I am still in shock. Please what should I do??????? I believe that thoughs poor pups might be sold with fals papers!!!! I am so scared that something terrible will happen to them. What would be your suggestions??? 1. report it to the police 2. depending on where you are, there may be laws about what ages pups should leave mothers - if so, report him to Animal control office 3. report it to your registration organization AFTER the police report with report number and copy of police report

Kougar is right about the steps to follow. Call the police at once. This is unbelievable and I can only imagine with horror the treatment those poor pups are getting from this person right NOW. You MUST get them back to their mother ASAP!!!

You should have IMMEDIATELY called the police. If you have contact information (address, phone, etc) give it to them. In the US, if the price is over a certain amount (usually over $500), the theft is a felony. If he has already paid for these pups, you may be in a gray area, and they may not be able to press charges. Either way, you can get a police report. Report the puppies STOLEN (if he has not paid) by this person(give his full name and contact information) to the registering agency, and if you think he will use an alternate registering agency, report it to them as well. Also be sure to tell them that you think he may be registering those pups with false information. The AKC will investigate an accusation like that, especially if you have a police report on hand. DNA certify BOTH parents of the puppies, so that if by some chance the owners of those puppies (I am assuming he is going to sell them?) DNA their pups, they won't match if he falsified paperwork, and they WILL match to your dogs. A good idea to report him to animal control for removing the puppies from the mother at too-young of an age. I will think about this some more and see what I can come up with. Another idea is going and taking the pups back with a police escort if you have a way to prove they are yours (photos, DNA, etc) Good luck, and I am so sorry to hear this! It is not unheard of, what you are going through, though it disturbs me each and every time I hear of something like this happening. Whoever he is, he should be absolutely ashamed of himself.

I wouldve called the cops as soon as they started to leave.

Yes That is stealing. I would have called the authorities immediatly! It must have been very frightening. I must say though did you not see this coming when you were dealing with these people. They don't sound very trustworthy or of good character. How dare they. You should have let your dog loose on them.

by ProudShepherdPoppa on 31 August 2006 - 15:08

Please keep us posted, I would also post this persons name and information here and on other lists. I don't think anyone who reads this would want to buy one of those pups. Number one priority though is to get the pups back with mom!

by EchoMeadows on 31 August 2006 - 15:08

Until you wean them they DO NOT BELONG TO HIM !!!! Get those puppy's Back right NOW ! Why did you not call the authorities right away ? Puppies for stud fee are fine, But puppies for stud fee or sale, do not belong to buyer or stud owner until the puppies are weaned !!!

Thanks all I don't live in the states and the laws hear are not good if anyone wants his info please pm me I am afraid to post his name and stuff here as he might do something to the pups. Jessica

That's what the guard dogs for "Paken" . Yes as posted above these pups are too young whether he own's them or not. If it were in the states that is theft of private property. And yes a felony if they are worth more than a certain amount in some states. What country do you live in. Also don't be afraid to post this persons name on this board, simply asking him for the pups back, this way you get the name out and other breeders will be more cautious of him as they should of anyone they don't know. Sorry to here about this, I wish the best of luck and hope things work out.
