Derbyshire VPG - branch of BAGSD is to hold a Koerung.

The date set and arranged is 20th / 21st March 2010.  The officiating judge is to be SV Kormeister Franz Peter Knaul.  This will be held in Derbyshire.   We anticipate this to be the first in the UK and are very excited about it.   We will be holding a seminar hopefully in November (and hopefully free of charge) for all that are interested, to come along and hear what is required, and how it all will go.  Any further information can be given by contacting Mo on
mascani22@aol.com.

Cheers   Mo.

Some time ago all the UK Breed Clubs were requested to post all their shows Open & Champ shows on the website of Jaquenatta GSD. For the past several months there has been an Open Breed Show posted on there for The Bolton & District GSD Club date of 21st March 2010!!!!  What has happened to co-operation & telephones?

Just how wrong can you be? Your venue and ours are approx 1hour apart and in this day and age not very many will do 2 shows in one weekend and as the majority of exhibitors these days feel they are getting a better deal from the overseas judges and have german stock plus this is something new your event has now killed ours dead in the water!  Once they have taken part in the show on the Saturday they will wish to stay for the following day.
Cambridgshire branch of the League pinched our show date of the 25th April. They had their show on the Saturday and the Urma photos on the Sunday. That was a death knell for our show - and look how far away they were!
We all went mad when the KC with held the CC's for 2012 - why worry about that when our own will willingly pull the rug from under us!

But this is a koerung (breed survey) with very strict qualifying criteria, I think if there are as many as 10 dogs eligible to participate they will have a very successful koerung, it should not interfere with a show, or am I missing something, realistically I would estimate maybe 5 'show' dogs and 5 'working' and that could well be an over estimate, but we have to start somewhere.

Have I missed something!! Carol you are right to ask this question. We know the full details of the Bolton Show so enough said, and hopefully it will be a success. As far as the Koerung is concerned can Mo please let us know if it is just a "Koerung" or are there other Breed or Obedience sections added. As Carol quite rightly states with the strict qualifying criteria I also cannot see many entries and therefore it sould not affect Bolton. Please can we have a little more information before this becomes another thread with adverse comments which could destroy two events 5 mths before they even take place.

Hi John,

Koerung and BH is the plan.

Carol, Ken, I have emailed you last night but got no reply yet, but I hope that you will see that this is not going to interfere with your show, its not a show, its a new event, it will only attract a few people, but we thought it well worth it as another way forwaard for our breed....as a matter of fact I asked our dear K.C. if I was clashing with any-one, and they stated that I wasnt.  Pity I didnt hear that everyone was putting their show on the Jaquenetta site, because since I have looked, I see that it also says K.C. approved date by the side of your entry pity they dont log it to give other clubs the correct information.
I really hope that you will have the time on the Saturday to come and have a look both, although I know you will be busy.
I will root for entries for the show without doubt.    Mo.

Koerung and B.H Brief Seminar is going to be 12th December.

Close to Santa I know, but Carol Reilly and Alyson are both booked for each week-end before it (lucky pair) and I really want them to do the seminar as they will do an excellent job. The seminar covers exactly what are the requirements for a Koerung, and what the Koerung entails, and also fully understanding the B.H. which is offered on the same week-end. There will be a demo of the BH and a video of the Koerung as it is done.
Carol and Alyson have very kindly offered to do another seminar in February for us, for you folk that have a social life at Xmas !! Many thanks both, its folks like you that keep us going.
Mo - Mascani.
