I wont mention the breeder's name but I called him and he told me to take him to vet because after all, Im only 18 years old and i have limited knowledge. The vet told me to wait another month because usually a testicle descends when the pup is 6 months old. My pup is 5 months old and I know the chances of it descending are slim.
Okay so I called the breeder and he said he'll take the puppy and give me a new one. The problem is, many Pakistani's dont love their dogs so its very easy for them to give their dogs away and get new ones. Im different, I love my dogs and i keep them inside the house and treat them like they are part of my family.
Since Im only 18 and I live with my parents, they told me to give him away and get a new one. I dont have the heart to givehim away because i love him and our bond is very strong.I paid $2500 for him and its noteasy for a person living in Pakistan to pay that big of an amount for a puppy. Valentino was my graduation present and I know parents want to give him away because they wasted their money. I want to keep him because I love him and I dont care if he only has one testicle.
So what should Ido? I should keep him right? Will the testicle descend when he's 6 months old.
Oh and please, Im alreadygoing through a lot and people who will be rude and pass stupid witty remarks should stay away from this post.
Thank you =)

Might I also add, it would be different if the dog had a medical condition that would be ongoing and costs prohibitive. You can still have a long, happy relationship with this boy, he just can't be bred.

AristianM i understand you quite right. My uncle went through the same thing with some other dog, NOT JAIN. However he kept it.
I would say wait till he's 6 month old, and if it doent descend then i would call up the breeder, and tell him to pay you the money to neuter the dog. However do not return him for another dog, if you love him that much.

All is not lost at 5 months, give it time and dont be swayed into doing something you may regret

But I really dont care because I love him and I want to keep him its just that my family memebers think they wastedtheir money.

Peggy,
Really? Then like you said, all is not lost at 5 months. I hope it descends.

The breeder gave me the same option as you stated. I could not live with the uncertainy he might live in a kennel for the rest of his life or be put to sleep if he was returned. My family & vet all thought the dog was too aggressive & a waste of time + money that he should be returned or put down. His size alone would make him too much of a danger.
But I loved him already & he loved me so dearly I couldn't do it. I worked with him throughout the next year with behavior modication + socialization & he became a totally different dog. He became a well behaved mush, that just loved affection.
I took him every where with me even to many college functions, where everyone loved him.
One night I was attacked by a man on drugs & would have been killed if not for him. He was stabbed repeatly but contiued to protect me until the police came. He also detected a cancerious growth on a family member, & did so many other amazing things with in his short life that he was never trained to do. That was almost almost 20+ years ago, & even though I loved all my dogs that I have owned throughout the years, he will always be the best dog I have ever own. He was my mircle dog. I'll never regret not sending him back, even though some of my dreams were delayed, I gained so much more from him than I could have ever imagine. Oh I took him to be neutered at 8 months old & he had both of his testicles!
If you wanted to show / compete with your new puppy, you can still go through all the motions of training him.
You'll become a better handler + trainer in the process, plus your dog will love all the time & work with you.
I'm sure you both will learn a lot from each other. Good Luck.
