I haven't been on here in a while but wanted to stop by and say thanks to those that helped me with information on getting my dogs papers from Germany and getting his registration here.

He is my first German Shepherd and the first training I've done in Schutzhund.
We went to a trial and got our Schutzhund 1 title two weeks ago.

He came here trained as a PPD that needed some additional control.
It was a lot of work for the man that trains us because the dog is still not the best on
the ouss and I didn't have a clue.
The trainer is excellent and was patient with us (me).
We have a great helper also.
We actually got 90-80-91 under a Helmut Ruppell from Germany.
Most mistakes were handler errors. Actually I think all but one was my fault in all three parts.

Then we did the AD.
I have no idea what I was thinking when I signed up for that.
I guess it didn't really occur to me that I'd be peddling that bike but we made it.

So now my buddy is UKC Ch. Oshadow vom Dichterviertel SchH1, AD, CGC, TDI

It has been an interesting 17 months but I love him, he is an awesome dog.
He not only helped me get back to a normal life but he opened up a whole new aspect of dogs for me.
We are going to go on to SchH2 (if the trainers patience holds out) but cut back a little on work
while his Dobersister goes to agility.
