I think I mentioned we borrowed my brother's night vision camera to see who was raiding the bird feeders. Well, it turns out we have a pretty regular masked bandit, as you can see!

And then I just had to share this picture of .... an ANGRY BIRD!   LOL  Taken automatically with the same camera.

My son made up his own caption....LOL,

THIS IS MY HAPPY FACE!

Beautiful shots beetree, here are some pics my daughter took in Aqaba, Jordan earlier this year, last one is in Wadi Rum.

Ibrahim:
Wow, what beautiful scenery! I had no idea.   ...Is that a boat stuck out in the middle of the desert or just abandoned by the shore? laugh

Here are a few more of my wildlife visitors. I played around some with the adjustments on some of these. The theme I was working on is "Negative Space" as seen in the last sparrow picture. If someone needs a photo idea to get going, that I think is a simple, yet powerful one. What it means is, the subject and the space around the subject have equal weight.

Look carefully on the squirrel thigh...you can see the teeny tiny red dot of the laser.

by Ibrahim on 30 April 2012 - 15:04

I think I see the laser spot. That ship is used as a part of a restaurant, a romantic set up, lol. I like your shots, they were done with a zoom in right? You couldn't be that close to them !!

In spme pictures of yours the color vividity (is it correct vividity !!) is better than others, just saying.

It is a night-vision, motion-sensitive camera that is strapped to the hickory tree. The quality isn't that great, but at least I can get a good shot, enough to tell what is visiting the feeders.

On the first set, I didn't use any retouching, just cropping. The second set, I did play around with stuff. But to do what I'd really like to do, I'd have to get on a much better program.

I bumped up the contrast  hoping to make my point about thinking about and using the negative space in creating photo compositions. Any composition, really!

Both DH and eldest son have new camera's. I don't see them using them, so I think I'll have to see what I can do with a better quality camera.

Here is ANGRY BIRD2, again, but I played around with some settings, just so anyone can compare:

Great pictures everyone.

I've always had one vehicle that I use just for the dog to travel in, which he rides in daily. Just got a different one for Pango and we are working on it. Going to paint it black with silver metal flakes.

Hopefully it will be painted today, and tomorrow. Will post some pictures when it is complete. It will take more than one day for the special paint job.

Yes this last pic is more beautiful now and in my opinion better natural colors. I think I don't understand "visiting the feeders", would be nice if you could explain it for me.
Feed: give food
Feeder: the one who provides food
Are the feeders some birds or what ?

by beetree on 30 April 2012 - 18:04

Ibrahim,   LOL, We provide seed, usually a combination of sunflower seeds, other seeds and nuts, and suet. So we have more than one type of "bird feeders". Sorry for the confusion, lol

Except, the other wildlife doesn't really follow the "for the birds" part of the feeders, and they can be quite piggish about getting their share. We try to provide enough so everyone will get something. BUT this raccoon was annoying DH, because he is the one feeding them in the morning and picking up the fallen feeders, time after time.

LOL, The thing is, now we know what it is, but I don't think we are actually prepared to do anything about it!

Ninja,     I am very curious to see what you are up to! LOL

by Ibrahim on 30 April 2012 - 18:04

Do you mean you provide feeders to the birds to help the wild life? I like that. In my farm I do not provide feeders but I do provide water and I safe guard my fruits against the birds, they destroy a lot of them in spring & summer time by feeding on them, especially the grapes and apricots, so I gues I'm doing the opposite to what you do except for the water
