Medicinal Marajuana as a cancer treatment - Page 1

   Please don't let this become a pro/anti pot thread. It isn't about the law or morality, it's a simple pharmacolegy question concerning the medical treatment of dogs. I've lost two dogs to cancer and just had another with a tumor removed. It was benign, but it was frightning none the less. We lost Sasha to DM, but her adenocarcenoma had returned as well. The only option we had was chemotherapy for $10,000, which I coudn't afford and I don't think I could put a dog through that anyway. I've researched alternative treatments and would like some opinions on the use of an oil extract from marijuana called Rick Simpson oil. I know marijuana is toxic to dogs, but from the little research I have found on this subject it seems the toxic substances are water souluble and are not contained in the oil. Does anyone know if this is correct? I don't know if this Simpson oil is effective or not-it hasn't been researched well enough to know in humans, let alone dogs, but if it does no harm and has the potential to help I would be willing to try it. It' better than doing nothing. Opinions Please, and if you are aware of any research being done on this subject, could you please post them here?

well medical marijuana is a very well known drug for cancer treatment. i own a showline german shepherd dog. i do reccomend marijuana for treatment of your dog. u can also see various documentaries on the internet describing benefits of medical pot.

I have seen people eating after chemo treatments where most of the time, they are to nauseus to eat. I have no idea if it works the same with dogs. 

 It has been well studied by law enforcers now and research on the level of WHAT arresting people with a little baggie in their veihicle and the cost of what is doing to the tax payer in our non existant Economy...and this is why Pat Roberson recently came to the same conclusion many others in Government economy have said...MAKE it legal and regulate it..

It would stop the underground , Cartel from errupting our Law Enforcement men and killing tons of them because States are having to impliment rigid force at our borders and we are killing our own men in service over a Plant with seeds, and the BIBLE says  all plants have good and God put it here for a reason..

I have no need for any drug and have always been against anyone using it in the wrong way as well as alcohol which kills as well as people high on OVERUSE of a plant or a derrivitive of one..ALL are from seeds or based from a fruit, veggie or ornamental plant we grow....so

Rather than argue, I just say,, try legalizing it and see if it stops the horrible Crime of underground smuggling across our borders and people taking chances driving and partying with a substance that they do not need in their body.

USE MARJ  for medical with a strict usage just like other drugs are today, by laws that the Pharmacuetical community has to abide by.

NOW TODAY, you cannot buy IODINE outside the counter of the druggist, because it is use to make MET or some such ,...YOu have to ask for it and be sure you are legal and an adult with no intent.

I was shocked last month when I went to find IODINE for ringworm treatment , not on my dog, because  it does work well for ringworm, and I had to be scrutinized by the clerk in the pharmacy....

Same thing will be done with Marijuana/ One of my sons Drs in Tyler , for his accute pain and suffering not able to be controlled , said to quit taking Hydocodone so much and go find some Marijuana and use it wisely to control his neuropsis and neurophathy.  We  immediately read three reports that Marijuana is being used in other states by Diabetics for their pain of Neuropsis...He is not a diabetic but suffering from a mashed destroyed foot and waiting for removal finaly by surgery.
But in the mean time his pain is 24/7 and might have been healthier by using marijuana...I do not know...as I have no common knowledge of anyone using it for medical here . I am sure there is as the doctors at the hospital led us to believe many people go elsewhere to buy it ..or use it without letting anyone know instead of laying in pain ..

You can make a very dangerous explosive with Iodine. HA HA That is why they do not want you to have it.

The pharmaucist just said it is used by people for drugs and other dangerous uses now adays so they have to control it.

I use to buy iodine for years and Methiolate and campo Phenique...Good ole solutions to lots of cuts, and itch skin and abrasions..Iodine is very good at killing a bacteria on dogs , horses and humans.

Sad thing people have to take even things we use for pleasure and cause problems.

THere is a girl who drinks gasoline every day, a man who is in love with is CAR and has intimate relations with it.., a woman who eats, wears and owns everything PINK.

Also a lady eats newspaper, another woman snorts BABY POWDER., AND CANNOT DO WITHOUT IT.
Another lady carries a doll head everywhere so goes, smelling it and touching it and rubbing her face with it.... CRAZY  addictions of all kinds with things that some of us use in our normal lives.

Obsessions to wigs, alcohol, drugs, tools, dogs and cats, and FOOD fall in same group.

I don't think I have heard of it as curative for cancer but that it helps with nausea from chemotherapy. I know it helped my grandfather had it years ago with appetite and nausea (the local police brought it to him, God bless them.) as he was dying from cancer.  I know it helps with glaucoma.
