I really wish I could get a dollar for everytime a dog owner uses the word "never" as in my dog never......

Back story to the above, my neighbors' old, senile, blind, deaf, barely able to walk, dog wanders the neighborhood and I have caught him at least 4 different times.  People drive like idiots through the neighborhood and I am so afraid poor Max will get hit.  So I let the wife know when I see him out as in "hey saw Max across the street yesterday" to let her know, not because I am being pissy, just a passing comment.  Today, her husband stops me (smell the booze on his breath) and he asks me why I am telling his wife I see Max wandering the neighborhood.  I said because I did on a few occasions and was afraid Max would get hit.  I told him I know how dogs can get out, no big deal, just letting them know.  He gets belligerant and says "Max NEVER goes out of the yard, do you understand, NEVER goes out, he knows better and NEVER leaves his yard".  I try to explain how sometimes the neighborhood cats can run into the garage or a leaf may trip the sensor and not let the garage door close, it happens.  He got even more pissy and said "NEVER leaves the yard, do....you...get....it....".  Then he says "next time you better take a picture before you bother my wife again".  WOW is all I can say......

Thanks for the vent lol

I had a woman tell me her Pit Bulls never bother anyone.......Needless to say a few days before she said that her precious Pit Bull attempted an attack on one of my dogs because it got out of the yard.....charged my dog, and I gave a good strong hit to the (would you call it a flank on a dog?) and she ran off back to the house.  Of course I didn't tell her that.  We have a lot of "nevers" in our neighborhood.....tons of "perfect" dogs who terrorize the nieghborhood while the owners are at work all day without the owners knowing....Go figure.  I say it's camera time too....I may have to use one myfels sometime for some of the "nevers" around here....

I wouln't feel bad about paintballing a younger, spry dog but this one is mostly blind, deaf and old. I don't know that I would
feel right....

Maybe for the safety of the dog, you should pick him up and take him to Animal Control or at least contact Animal Control to come and get him.

It would be a shame to see the old guy dead at the side of the road due to the owner's neglect.  Maybe if they had to pay to get him back out a few times, they would make sure he was properly contained.

Oh yeah; and before you take him in:  picture time for proof that Max was indeed out at least once.

Problem is, these people let their old cat wander into the middle of the street and lay down.  They were told by neighbors numerous times the old cat is laying in the middle of the street.  Funny thing is they said "Sassy NEVER goes in the street".  A few months later she was hit and their response was to gleefully get a new kitten and say with big smiles all around "we never could have done this with Sassy around".  Makes me wonder if they want Max hit so they can get a new puppy.  I do believe if I had a video, hubby would accuse me of staging it.  Animal control is a good idea except I have to be sneaky so it can't get traced back to me.  Hubby has poisoned the neighbors dogs before by throwing poisoned meat into the neighbors yard.  Nothing could be proven eventhough the police even knew he did it, the man is too experienced at criminal activities.
