just wondering if anyone has had this trouble. I sold a pup with my kennel name. He is a Grand Ch now I am very proud of him and now the owner, I sold him with full akc breeding rights but with Kennel name, wants me to stop using his name anywhere on my website, even the pups that he sired with my bitch. She has been adiment about this to the point of almost harrashing me thru phone calls and emails.

There's got to be more to it than that!

She sounds a little

Your kennel name is your kennel name and NO ONE ELSE has the right to use it for their dogs!

I agree, something else going on here! Check the kennel club rules about names. I think she can get into big trouble with them for doing this.

you bred this litter you have all the right to keep you name on the dogs papers and if this lady does not like it too bad. i always put in my contract , that they must have my kennel name  on the dogs papers.
you also have  the right to put any pictures of any puppy you produced on your site .

was there a contract ?

Your kennel name is your kennel name and you produced the animal. Like trixx said it is unfortunate that she is not happy but what can you do?  Did she give a reason that she does not want him on your site?

Unfortunately, situations like this one is very common.   Unless the kennel name is registered through AKC or some other registry,
it is yours to use and write at your own free will.... Did you register the the name as YOUR kennel with the prospect club?

As for as the posting of pictures of that puppy, sad to say, but once you sold the physical dog or puppy, legally he is no longer yours.
So if you are putting pictures of that particular dog, and you did not take the pictures yourself, and you are using pictures his
current owner has taken, I would think that maybe the owner has a right to say they do not want you to post picutres of THEIR
dog on your website..

If it were me, I think just to keep the peace, I wouldn't post anymore pics of THEIR dog.  Perhaps word it to the effect that he is a puppy
from a litter that YOU bred.......However, I would acknowledge them as his OWNER.

Seems that if they are so proud of the dog and he acheived such an accomplishement, they
would want to have as much, per say, "bragging" on the dog as possible...I would acknowledge them as his OWNER.

JUST MY POINT OF VIEW!
Hope it can all be worked out.

Um, I don't think the dog's present owner can do anything about the breeder using pictures of the dog that were taken when he was still @ the breeder's, nor even pictures of the dog as an adult that were lawfully obtained (either the breeder took the pics themselves, were given the pics by the present owner, or purchased the pics from a photographer who was given permission to take the photos), and the present owner darn sure can't stop the breeder or anyone else from featuring the dog's name and picture in relation to any litters he's sired--because none of that is false information, or unlawfully obtained.  The breeder can take credit for being the dog's breeder, as long as they make it clear that they don't own the dog presently.  Obviously, something went wrong with the relationship between breeder and owner, but as long as the breeder isn't misrepresenting anything about the dog or his present ownership, the owner is SOL in this particular effort to be vindictive (justifiably or not).  Don't know any of the parties involved, BTW--or at least I don't think I do...can never tell with user names, after all.  But it doesn't sound familiar.

Hexe, What you said was exactly what I said, just didn't quite word it the same as you.
Not to add fuel to fire, but I would love to see the dog that is causing all this bickering.

I know of someone else who went thru a somewhat similar scenario.  Breeder A bought a dog from breeder B, then the two had a falling out.  Breeder A who owns dog with breeder B's kennel name has that dog on their website.  Breeder B had thrown a hissy fit about the dog's legal registered name, pedigree, pics of sire and dam all being posted on Breeder A's website.
Court said tough luck to Breeder B.

The owner of the dog bought from Dazy10's kennel really doesn't have much legal rights to tell Dazy that she can't use the dog's name, ESPECIALLY since the same dog sired litters for dazy.  Dazy would be within her rights to use photos of the dog on her website if those photos are owned by Dazy (or has permission to use the photos from whoever does own them.)

I agree with Hutchins, I'm curious!
