So sad that this news anchor Kyle, Dyer, had to pay such a high price for doing what so many lacking in doggie education but full of good intentions do, sticking her face right in the face of a strange dog in a high stress environment. If you are able to watch the video, you can see she was face on and lowered her head while sticking her face directly in the Argentinian Mastiff's face. The news studio is a stressful place for people let alone animals. Unfortunately this will give lots of fodder for the "Ban The Pit Bull" people. I pray that Kyle Dyer is able to heal and not have lasting emotional or physical scars. So many times I have had people want to hug my dogs, place their faces next to my dogs' face, or send their kids over to "give the nice dog a hug". Hopefully this can be used as a learning experience for proper behavior around strange dogs.

It certainly isn't good PR for the bully breeds... There is already a ban in Denver...
So many people don't know how to BE around animals..
The owner has a death grip on the dog's collar..
There is so much nervous energy going between them...
Petting over the top of a strange dog's head...
No loose lead, and no rabies vaccine..
The owner is actually lucky, because Denver probably would have put the dog down, except that it was such a public event..
Scary...
I think Kyle will be OK.

Very sad. She is in fair condition, must be a bad bite. Yes, I don't understand why adults still haven't learned not to stick their face in a strange dogs face.

Hey, look, there's an alligator--let's get closer so we can get a better look!
Awww, look at the baby bears...they're so cuuuuutttte! Here baby, here BooBoo, want some bread?
Wow, buffalo in Yellowstone! This is so cool! Quick, get out of the car and get some video of them before they all leave the roadway!
Isn't this great, driving through the safari park, looking at the animals...ooooh, look at the zebras! Here comes one now--it's coming right up to the car! Let's roll down the car window so we can get a picture!
[I actually witnessed an idiot do this last thing @ Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ years back, except they did it in the baboon section of the safari park, and they were feeding the baboons. When the people ran out of food, a baby baboon climbed into the car as they were trying to roll up the windows--before everything came w/auto windows--and when they tried to get the little bugger out, it started shrieking, which drew the adults to the windows...it wasn't a pretty sight, these baboons tearing the crap out of this car. I felt the people got what they deserved...they were lucky they got the windows all the way up before an adult got in the car with them.]
The cynic in me whispers that Nature keeps trying to thin out our herd, but we fix 'em up and send them back out into the wild anyway. I'm sorry this woman was bitten, but for f***'s sake, would she stick her face under a lawn tractor if she weren't absolutely sure that no one was near enough to start it up???
[Here's something else that is aggravating--this is from the link Denwolf posted. As a 'news anchor', this guy is allegedly a 'journalist', right? Yet he writes:
"Tuesday, a firefighter risked his life to save a dog named Max who wondered out on an ice covered lake and fell in."
The dog 'wondered' out onto the ice, did he? What, exactly, was he wondering about--where the coyote went that he was allegedly chasing? Is that why the dog didn't realize the lake ice was weak--because he was lost in wonder? I realize that in this age of smart phones and text-messaging, being able to spell has long since lost it's importance, but still....

Er....cough!
It's stands for it IS. Sorry, it's one of the most common grammar mistakes people make, but it happens to be a pet peeve of mine!
If you're not sure whether to use its or it's, take the apostrophe out, and change it to 'it is'. Is that what you meant to say? If not, the apostrophe does not need to be there.

This idiot gets out of his car, steps across the post and chain fence onto the lawn, and sticks his face right in Tasha's. I had my back turned, so I didn't actually see what happened (whether he tried to hug her, or whether he just got his face too close.)
He was VERY lucky she didn't actually make contact, as the dog in the video did!
And the stupid git had NO CLUE as to what he'd done wrong!
"Why'd she do that?" he asked. "Is it because she smells my own dog on me?"
Meanwhile, I'm thinking, "YOU have a dog, yet you are so ignorant of canine good manners as to do something like that? WOW!"
