What is it about a man in uniform that appeals to so many women?  LOL!   In my family alone, my dad was in the AirForce when my mom met him and married him.  My husband was in the 82nd Airborne (Army) when I met him, then 101st when we were engaged.  My son received a nomination and appointment to the U.S. AirForce Academy, but sadly got sick and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis so could not go to the academy or pursue a career in the AirForce much to his dismay.  One of my niece's married a young man in the Army (military intelligence who served on in Iraq during the height of the war) and he recently got out after 8 years.  Another niece recently married an Army officer (military intelligence) who will soon be deployed to Afghanistan.  Now, to top it off, my daughter who is in college just started dating a Marine!   I guess those uniforms and what they represent attract the women in my family!  They are all heroes in my book!

I think a man/woman in uniform is a person who has decide to take a different path in life. The majority who believe in words like HONOR, CHARACTER, SACRIFICE,  ESPRIT DE CORPS,  COMMADERIE (Sp) and the list goes on. The majority of that is not in Civilian life. And once leaving the military there are those that go in the direction of military or paramilitary organizations/entities and such. It's who we are.

I have this conversation with my buds many times, (and just the other day with a business owner, former INTEL, possibly going back to Kabul or surrounding area). I could be on a flight of 75 individuals, didn't matter where you came from, what your last name is, how much money your family has, who your family is, didn't matter what your rank was, if you had been there five years or five days. THE MISSION COMES FIRST! And yes, times are different than from twenty years ago but out in life you can pretty much tell by numerous factors who was in the military. Now, don't get me wrong....... I'm not saying civilians are not good people. They are. But for the most part military personnel or former run a little smoother.

My man wore a uniform, a rescue captain in a fire department.  Love a man in uniform.  Funny thing is when I wore a uniform for my fire department, my fire and police friends and I found out men usually don't feel the same way, especially if the woman carries  a gun ..... hmmmmmm  lol

Depends on the uniform...men like women in cheerleading uniforms, for example...

Catholic school uniforms, too.

I was a cheerleader for Halloween one year when I was in my early 20's. I borrowed my cousin's uniform, having NO IDEA how skanky they had gotten in the past 15 years. I didn't try it on until it was time to leave.   I still get harassed about that costume.

Men in uniform isn't really my thing- sometimes the character of the men in the uniforms is, but the uniform in and of itself isn't a big deal.
