Wow, this appears to be a great option for dogs with disabilities.  They don't have to always stand like most wheelchair designs. 

My fifth grade teacher kept a German Shepherd bitch in an apparatus like this for years, it was the saddest think I think I had seen at that age.

Some people have a temporary need, while others abuse their dogs and treat them as they would a Barbie doll.

Some of you ladies claimed to embrace the Peta mentality on another thread, we'll see how you feel when they take your animals away from you.

I see your point, Moons. Is the owner doing it for the dog, or for themselves? All too often, the answer is they are too worried about their own emotional pain, and don't see what the dog is going through.

My first GSD slowly lost the use of her back legs due to arthritis. She also developed a bacterial infection in the spine. I did a few things to keep her going: anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and herbal remedies and vitamins to bolster her immune system to fight the infection. She rallied for awhile, and as long as she seemed to be enjoying life, I kept her going. But when she reached the point that she was dragging her legs behind her, that was it.

It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, though. She was only 9.

If I had a dog with a spinal problem that could be solved by surgery or by rest and time, I would use one of these devices. But for long term use? No, that's not the sort of life a dog was meant to live, and unlike a human, they can't understand the reason for it.

I am interested to hear reviews from people who have used this with their dogs. Until now Eddie's Wheels has been the most favored cart for dogs.


Moons,  You are entitled to expressing your opinon about using a cart on a dog, but to call someone sick because she/he has posted this information is completely out of line.


 

I agree with starrchar regarding moons post(s).
Obviously, if the dog is enjoying life, by all means, use the cart/wheelchar.  Duh, that's a no-brainer.
And by the video of the frenchie, it is obvious he is enjoying life.  Why PTS a perfectly happy, otherwise healthy dog?  Again, no-brainer.
So next time when your Mom, Dad, Grandparents fall and break a hip, need a wheelchair or walker for the rest of their life, just PTTS.  I know, I know, we can't compare humans to dogs but....

Thanks for your words Starrchar. Wheelchair for dogs is very common, in cases the pets have a good quality of life. This wheelchair has the particularity to be verypractical, did you see the video?, I was very surpised when I watched it pets are able to go up stairs and down by themselves.(Im not selling them ehhh hahaha) It is not my case but If you have a pet who is able to enjoy life and you love himher wouldn't you everything for him her to improve his her quality of life? It is a personal decision but fortunatelly they are improving the designs of wheelchairs.

I assume the Moons has tested all his dogs for DM before breeding them so he isn't ever responsible for producing a dog that might need a cart.
