My opinion is:

Why don't you directly ask that club member/officer why?

Perhaps this person knows somethng you do not,
I'd ask.

Perhaps the club members of the other club are nicer people, just a thought.
I will be training at SEVERAL clubs this year.  Why?  I have different dogs that are in training that have different needs.  I go to the best training atmosphere for the individual dog. Some helpers are good with high prey dogs and some are better with defense dogs.  I would be a crappy trainer and doing a huge disservice to the dogs if I were to put them in the tutelage of the wrong helper.

I do this, maybe this is directed at me? lol

My club membership is nothing personal.  I go where I can afford, when I can afford it and most importantly, what is right for me dogs.  I currently train with four different clubs (Schutzhund, SDA, flyball, and an all-breed obedience/CGC/agility/Rally type club).  My highest priority has and always will be for Schutzhund training because quite simply that's what I enjoy the most, that's what German shepherds do, and it's probably the best "bang for my buck" being that it's three very different phases of training.  I also prefer the company of my Schutzhund club members (not saying I *don't* prefer the company of the others).  The people there and the style of training is most in line with my personal training and how I believe a dog should be worked, plus my helper has done all the foundation work on both my current competition dogs so I am reluctant to let just anyone enter the picture.  Right now I'm not training with *any* club more than 45 minutes away because to be frank I'm just burnt out after trialing my dog in late November, I often feel the winter weather is not safe and it's not worth the risk, and I'm getting some major repairs done on my dog van (the problems limit where I can go to train and the cost limits how often I can train at the moment).  When looking for Schutzhund clubs (or similar protection sports) I'm looking mostly at the quality of the helperwork and the direction of the club (are all the members committed and focused, working towards tangible goals and trialing their dogs, showing progress, training solid working dogs?).  I've started and eventually left clubs because I just didn't care for the direction the club was headed.  Again, nothing personal.  There are plenty of clubs out there to suit everyone.  For me good quality training and helperwork speaks for itself.

If the club members and/or other officers don't want a person in their club, get rid of them according to the bylaws.  Personally I don't like reading between the lines.  Depending on the bylaws the club has the right to control their membership and any person joining the club should be aware of this when they join.  If a club wanted me out and did so according to the bylaws, whatev, I have other options.
