Hi
I have a nearly 15 month old neutered Mal. He is, for the most part a good dog. However for the last few months I have changed his exercise regime. He used to hike with me in my group hikes ( I am a commercial dog walker), but started to become possesive over the car, crate and me. Then he started beating up random dogs in the group. I now take him out before and after work. This is going well, but only because he's not in the hikes anymore. He also HATES puppies. Especially males. He has never ever done damage to another dog, just been an A**hole.
He is super social and tries to drag me over to see any and every dog. However, if it's a dog he doesn't like, then he fights. No recall, no ignoring the dog. This doesn't happen very often. On the other hand, dogs can be aggressive towards him (big and small) and he doesn't bat an eye.
I hate hate HATE yelling and screaming at him. Do you think this behaviour will get worse? Go away as he matures? Get worse? I make sure after every time this happens he knows it is NOT acceptable.
Also, when playing with other dogs, he tends to get over stimulated. If it's more of a "submissive" dog he can turn it into a fight. However, other dogs who tell him off or give it right back, he can play with for hours. My dog is a bully!
I love him, but am beyong frustrated. I feel like I'm walking on egg shells. It's just that 5% of the time when he can be an ass that puts me on edge. Help! Suggestions and thoughts please.
Thanks

That is what the term;
Positive Reinforcement comes into play..YOU ALLOW HIM to do iT>
YOU need to yank him to the new world when he even makes a body move to start it..DO NOT ALLOW it.
Wear a body harness(the dog) and yank him into reality and into a sitz. then proceed normally and if he tries it again ,make the next yank and correction harder....third time have a COME to JESUS talk with him..IF you do not know what that is call a gsd trainer in your area or a malinois breeder here..on our board.
THen if that doesn't work the first time...quit YELLING>
Action .....Hard headed dogs must feel the correction if it is not working the first time.
Body harness keeps you from yanking neck or vertibrae for harsh corrections and I think your dog needs harsh corrections., if you cannot get it done with starting a calm correction with walking him past another pup or dog he doesnt like and the minute he budges in the wrong direction , say NO and then correct by quick yank...then proceed to do this for a week or so and then if doesn't produce positive ,,,get harsh when he reacts in any way ..Do not let him get by with it...keep it up till he ignores all cats, pups or kids or any thing reacting in that behaviour mode.
