What's the difference between limited and no papers?

AKC competition privileges outside of the breed ring.  W/o the limited reg, one has to go through a process of sending photos and requesting confirmation of purebred status, registering the dog with an "indefinite limited privileges" number.  Further, the limited reg is "proof" of pedigree.

Kimmelot, your premise could have been valid but for the fact that breeder gave the buyer, raylind,  a reason for the delay in providing the registration for Neci von Hayden--and it wasn't because the pup wasn't yet spayed, it was because the breeder had too many balls in the air, as it were, with personal/family calamities and little spare time, and hadn't yet gotten around to taking care of the registration paperwork.  Perhaps if it had been a multi-pup litter, the papers would have been applied for in a more timely fashion, but being it was a single puppy litter and they had been planning to keep Neci for themselves, I'm guessing it wasn't much of a priority to get her registered with the AKC.  Once she was advertised for sale, however, it should have become a pressing priority so they'd have the registration papers in hand before the sales transaction was completed and the pup delivered to the new owner.

The dog was to be sold with AKC registration.Period.I suggested limited when the when we still had some communication and a few months went by .I did this in case She had reservations about me breeding the dog. By the way my posts on the kennel FB page have been deleated and she has unfriended me on her personal page. What a surprise.

Issuing these papers is a very simple process that takes a minimal amout of time and effort on her part. One starts to wonder if this dog was truly from the listed breeding or is there some other issue at hand.I still hope she will do the right thing and we can move on.

Is a public board such as this the proper way to address conflicts with any specific breeder?  Especially when the person in question is not a regular poster on the board?  Not taking sides here please understand... but any and all offered reasons or suggestions are guesses by any of us.   I hope that the problem with Nici's papers gets resolved to everyone's satisfaction, and that there is a post that goes into 4 pages covering that as well.

windwalker18, I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease".  When a customer has made good faith attempts to contact the seller by telephone, email and web site, yet is still unable to get the paperwork that was part and parcel of the sale, why shouldn't that customer then use a public messageboard to enlist the aid of others who might have regular contact with the breeder and garner suggestions as to how they might better resolve the impasse?  Had the customer received the dog's registration paperwork at some point between August, when they picked the dog up at the kennel, and December, the only post raylind would have likely made here about the dog or the kennel was regarding how pleased they are with Neci and with the breeder.  One must be mindful that a reputation is theirs to lose, and once lost can be nearly impossible to rehabilitate.

Raylind.. have you contacted the AKC again and explained your predicament? I think by the amount of comments here.. that we are most in agreement that they will be your best bet on getting them! I, again had the same problem, and with signed contracts in hand were issued registration applications with no problems.. they will help you!! let us all know what they say .. good luck !

Personally, if she has "unfriended" you from Facebook and refuses your calls etc, I'd simply start court proceedings and utilize the AKC to the fullest extent.
She has no intention of providing you with papers, if she did, you would have them by now. At the very least, you would have open and honest communication with her, and she would be forwarding you copies of paperwork from the AKC to prove the pup is in the process of registration etc.

It appears as though you got screwed my friend...
I'd look into Paypal as well about getting a refund. Send them a detailed account of what has transpired.

Good luck!

if it has been more than 45 days you wont get any money back from paypal , but they will look into her, so i would get a hold of Paypal  and AKC ,i have used paypal and got scamed so i know how pay pal work,i would never buy a pup from a breeder i dont know, without going there and would expect papers in hand , if not, no sale. its a shame there are breeers like her.

I am gathering all my information and correspondence from and to Kim and will begin this process. How sad and unfortunate that Kim Richards/Von Hayden German Shepherds just could not do the right thing from the beginning SO TO Sum IT UP She will not provide paperwork for Neci My name is still used in the add for this dog sold. The add for this dog clearly states all our dogs are can be registered. She stated the paperwork would be sent by the AKC this week(several months ago) I paid extra for her to change ownership but AKC has no record of dog or litter. I would love for my next post to say paperwork arrived, issue resolved and Kim owed up to her responsibility.Let's see.
