I have posted because of the other comments: i'll simply say tundra's, my first view of a "tundra" was at a military school in Mo. in the early 70's ,that male was a "frank" off shoot an yes later in life i met frank, an happy/grateful my wife an an two children had the chance
to be part if this tundra's life. my next view of a "tundra" was aboard ship this was also another off shoot from frank in 79" this was a sable tundra ,an all sailor to the heart .what does that mean? spoken commands were few an hand signals were used,an the ship was his duty station an attached to a first class petty officer ,to watch him work was truly beyond anything in a "dog" ,hence wag tail an an well look like a dog,it would 20 years later
be my chance to have one from frank. He was a massive male weighing 185#, i begged frank to have him for several months,he made us bring clothes to have our scent in his pen
an we could do "light"visits with training tips from frank, that was three months, after that he let us take him home for day time visits .My wife an kids would be there to clean the pen an walk (part of the deal) .An as to my devotion to this animal three nights before he was ours i slept in his pen.TRUST is the first part of owning a tundra the second is training. It would be almost a year till i was ok with the kids- my wife, being alone with him,an he had many times in that year proved himself.(I am in tears writing this) We had him for eleven years,an old age @16 his hips were with arthritis an cortizone would ease him, but he would want to play an be worse after playing with the kids.He to my best guess an vet's had a stroke, i would hold his head to get him water ,my wife called me at work that he was not doing well an we lived a block away from vet ,so "doc" was already with him.I rushed home an upon walking in to his pen this"tundra" pulled him self to me an passed with his head in my hands. The vet thru the years many times did not charge us fee's. He said he never seen devotion between owner an animal as such as this.We now have two tundra"pups a brother an sister ten months old an from Franks stock ,Frank passed in 08" an thanks to rose that has frank's web page an was franks assistant, helped us locate stock with high percentage .These Tundra's are also both massive, alert, intelligent, mischievous an accepting hand signals. My wife an i kept brush fur from the first,as we have learned Tundra's "know other tundra's an will be like long lost friends upon first meetings.in this case "scent",we "train the wolf an love the shepherd . Look at what wolf pups do an this is how we are treated as their parents. As they mature these traits pass an a faithful, loyal ,loving, trusting Tundra blossoms. To close, if you are not willing to go thru this process then Tundra's are not for you.If any questions feel free to contact us as to training ect. P.S. in my opinion most of the words in the other posted comments are very negative or maybe just folks don't understand
Tundra's . should you find your self with a tundra pup remember trust, training an love. peace....

The Tundra is a Wolf/GSD cross percentages and results vary greatly.
As one who has owned hybrids I cannot recommend them.
