Can anyone tell me what the pups by Canto are like? What I've read makes him sound like a very serious and strong dog. Is he?

One of my friends had a pup from him. So far I've heard she was very high in ball drive. Sold her for a detection prospect I believe.

I had a female pup out of him. I gave it a way to pet home. She had very bad nerves. Jason Sidener www.vonsidener.com

Hi Jason ! Please let me know the name of the mother of your puppy?? Might be interesting for future breeding. I owned Canto in germany and can tell you that he got solid nerves.Strong dog with super protection and a lot of agression in his work. In "privat" life the best dog you can think of. We have 121 puppie¿s out of him bred in germany .Of course they can not be all of them "Worldchampion¿s" but we have a good number of dog¿s who are worked in the sport and police.I have not seen one dog out of him with weak nerves.Lot of times they have too much drive to get handelt easy for the top sport. If you have any more questions please let me know!!! Very best regards! I whelped a litter out of Canto and kept a female. She is absolutely rock solid in nerves, has extreme prey drive and 100% full and calm grips every time. Some of this is, of course, due to her dam's side of the pedigree, but she has strengths coming from Canto as well. There are NO nerve issues whatsoever in her case nor in any of her siblings I know of. Two of the males were extremely talented and were doing Sch1 routines before they were a year and half old. I wouldn't hesitate to use Canto with the proper female in the future because from what I've seen, he can produce excellence. I'm certain he, like all dogs, can also produce some problems on occasion, but few dogs (if any) produce 100% perfection!

I have a friend who imported a Crok daughter bred to Canto a couple years ago. A friend has a male who has a super temperament, lots of drive and I kept a female for her for a little while to get her out of a bind.. The male unfortunately will not OFA either end (don't know who it comes from - will be interesting to hear about littermates), which is a bummer but he shows no symptoms so we will keep on her to keep him lean.. The female was brilliant and with a clicker I taught her more things than I have ever taught any dog at her age.... that was great education for me. She had an oddly set ear and we decided to place her.. she was pretty tough and independent too!!

Hi DKiah! Would be interesting to know more about this litter. Canto was never bred to a Crok daughter in germany?? Let me know the name of the dam? Very best regards Frank

Terry, The mother to the puppy I had was Bambi von der Fasanerie. I talked to a guy who owned a littermate to the female I had and he was very happy with his female out of Canto. He said she had excellent nerves and drives. Jason Sidener www.vonsidener.com

Hi Jason ! Yes . I sold Bambi pregnant to Tom Trainor and he got over all a good litter of them(see last Schutzhund USA Magazin). Bambi is an excellent female herself. But sometimes sh.... happens. There will never be a stud who is producing 100% top puppie¿s. Very best regards! " There will never be a stud who is producing 100% top puppie¿s." I agree. That is why I did not say anything bad about Canto. I just stated my one and only personal experience with one of his pups.
