Anyone have the website of the French Ring equivalent to the IPO Championship? I wanted to find the results for the French Ring Championship in the NARA, but only founf results for US. I'm interested in seeing WW.

Gus,
There was a world event for French Ring "COUPE INTERCONTINENTALE" that was held for couple of years, but nothing in recent times. Each organization has it's championship event in their respective country. The Coupe de France de Ring is the biggest and I believe international competitors are allowed to enter. Maybe someone that knows more about competing in France will chime in.

Hello Gusmanda,
RE: French Ring.
First there is a temperament test called CASU to pass then there are 4 levels in French Ring; The Brevet, FRI, FRII and FRIII.
In my opinion IPO III is probably of the same difficulty as FRI. French Ring is much more difficult. Because of the speed required and the long jump and palisade the GSD’s doing FR at a high level are on average smaller and more agile than the average GSD doing IPO. However there are a lot of good GSD’s with high prey and fight drives that could do FR. The GSD can compete in FR but the sport is dominated by Malinois.
The big trial in France is called “La Finale” and it is made up of about 30 dogs chosen from amongst the best through selection trials “Les Sélectifs” held in 8 districts. He is the results of “La Finale”.

Here is a very GSD who does well at FR.

You will find a copy of the rules in English here.

Myret, who posts on PDB, recently went to France to purchase a GSD from FR stock. Maybe he will comment here.
You, living in Mexico, will find it to be a hot bed of French Ring enthusiasts.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Guys. Interesting, I am somewhat surprised that there isn't a FR international competition for all breeds. I wanted to take a look at what the GSD's doing FR3 look like at a competition level, I'll have to settle for looking at GSD's titled in FR3. It seems they are not too different from those doing IPO, many descending from the same dogs that do well in Schutzhund. FR is SUPER popular where I live, but not with GSD's.
Funny how French Ring is more "underground" in a way. You can't even find books on the subject.

The various national championships for French Ring are all breed, however the Malinois dominates in all of them. I don't remember the last time a GSD competed at the Championships for NARA or CRA in FRIII, there have been some at FRI and FRII. There are usually 1 or 2 at the Coupe in France. With the GSD they usually get there through the point system, with the other breeds sometimes it's a breed invite that gets them there. This year Bob des Legendaires Vanova earned his spot in the Coupe via the point system, earning some nice Selectif scores.
All breeds can compete for spots via the point system, but the Belgians dominate.

I see RCI being mentioned in the www.sport-canins.net page, is that some form of Ring?

RCI is France's version of Schutzhund
