It is a short time storage system of your most recent stuff. You'll need to find a permanent home, still, to archive and save old stuff, (your home computer or other service).

Anything, just ask. If I don't have an answer, I'll just make one up.

Okay, this is how it is. If you don't have some kind of automatic download backup of your iPad, then it will overwrite the oldest data, with your newest data, such as photos. That info is being stored in The Cloud. When the Cloud is full, (in your case 64 GB) it rains your old data, out. That would be a problem, unless you have an auto-backup system, like Time Machine, that continually archives your data, when you tell it to.
And, that is why I am okay with upgrading from my Airport Extreme router to the Time Capsule, as it is a wi-fi hard drive and super-duper router all-in-one.
Hope this helps. All this gets connected to my home computer, the new iMac.
