Use of shop-vac near or at whelping box - Page 1

Do you think the sound of a shop-vac may negatively affect mom or pups?

One purpose is to suck away water after washing/sterlizing. I will be using a suction stripe to pick up fluid.

Another is to pick up little poops from the pups.

Do you think the noise of a shop-vac will spook the pups?

I've used one for years, but I put mom out in a run before I turn it on, in case it upsets here and she steps on a pup or something. I do NOT use it for picking up poop, just to suck up the water and disinfectant after I clean.
