I don't follow...................

Here we have separate dogs for patrol and drugs. Usually we have English Springer Spaniels that are drugs/cadaver/cash trained whereas normal patrol would more often than not be a GSD.

If this guy had petted a patrolling police dog in the UK he would most probably have lost part of his arm at least. The patrolling dogs are NOT friendly unless at home with their handlers in a family environment. If they're working everyone needs to stay well away.

The Spaniels are usually overly friendly though. Although if a dog is working, members of the public don't opften get the chance to pet them.

well atleast he didn't go to jail... just another example that potheads should be put in prison. it's a waste of money to imprison someone who actually likes police dogs.

This is a joke right? I have interviewed some pretty sick individuals who would never dream of harming a dog, any dog.

However, they have no problem causing serious harm to a person or persons.

I hear you... some people are twisted. I just picture some kid stoned out of his mind harmlessly walking up to that last thing he needs to be around. Not saying petting the dog makes him a good guy, just that sometimes marijuana can make you a bit absent minded. I'm a cannabis advocate so the emotion made me take that a little far. I don't know if this is the best place for it but I think it'd be cool to hear a K9 Narcotics officer's opinion on the legalization of marijuana, if not all narcotics.

You really don't want to hear my opinion of it.  Not going to discuss it hear.

Stumpy,

If you want to understand the Patrol / narcotics K-9's in the US PM me.

What is meant by "cash trained" dogs.   Sounds as if one is not suppose to carry cash??  How much then is too much cash, one more dollar?  I no longer travel by airplane.  I stopped learning to fly after 9/11 when my trainer lost his planes due to it and bankruptcy.  With all the new rules, did not fly commerically again.  Now this in addition!!!!
