I was reading one of threads and they were disagreeing with what a breeder did?  I happen to know the breeder. The thread was far from the type of breeder he was portrayed as in this thread.

The breeder's intentions were good, but some people, that don't know him, even thought he was trying to market his dogs. This was NOT the breeders intentions. While this was a good decision gone bad, the person that started the post even went so far as to POST THE BREEDERS information. This is the part that I disagree and think is unethical.

There was other negative comments made about this breeder that protrayed him in false light. I can say this because I know him personally. Not to mention the person that posted it claimed they that did NOT know the breeder and in fact they do know of him and are friends with people that DO NOT LIKE the breeder. I am truly disappointed in breeders that amount to this type of action and it says a lot about their character too. That said, was what she did unethical?

This is not the place to start defaming people you do not like or do not know for your own personal reason or not. My understanding is that it is ok to go ahead and post away about how you do not like someone's decisions, etc. but please do not post their personal information. There are rules that everyone member agreed to abide by when joining this site. I think we should all review those rules.

There is freedom of speech but there is also something called the tort of defamation which applies to even something that is posted and written that is not technically false but does defame the person.

Lets please remain professional and ethical when acting on our right to freedom of speech.

There are two sides to every story, and people do NOT treat everyone the same.  If you have had a good experience with this person, than feel free to tell your side, however, I do not agree with the premise, that just because he was fair and honest to you, means that he treats everyone that way.  We know that as humans, that is simply not always true.  Sometimes it is, of course too.  Some people are just good honest people.

Good post Red Sable and how very true. I would also like to add that a lot of times people get on here to tell some sad story as to how someone treated them and then find out later they lied to make themselves look better. And also in those 2 sides there are things said that lets you know there is a 3rd side that we will never get to hear. I mean come on this is a public forum and people can come on here and be whatever and whoever they want to be. We've seen proof of that also. As I stated in an earlier post I am all about defending facts..........

I still diagree with posting for the purpose of defaming another person. I think it is unethical and I respect people that choose not to do this as well.
