RIP Bonnie 2/14/1996 - 9/16/2011
Just a reminder that DM doesn't just affect GSD but the heinz 57 as well.
Run free my puppy... you were the best dog I've ever had.
No more pain, no more meds... you are whole.
I'll see you again at the rainbow bridge.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard a heinz 57 can be to lose, there's never a chance to get anything close to what they were. I lost my best dog when I was 10 and it still hurts, over 4 decades later. I feel your pain and I'm sorry you're feeling it now. RIP Bonnie

Warm Hugs Melissa! It's so very hard. Just dwell on and cherish all the good and funny things over the 15 years you had her and she will always be with you.

Thank you guys :) She was an incredibly special dog.
She was my very first dog and taught me so much.

I am sorry ...Such sweet little blessings they are...The Rainbow Bridge must be the best place ever...

It should be noted that she lived a very long life. That's great -- and much of that credit goes to you.
If only our gsd's lived well past 15...too few.

What a sweet face--and clearly you gave her an outstanding life, that she should travel with you for 15 years DESPITE having DM. No dog could have wished for a better person to care for, and as your first dog, she will ever influence your relationships with every dog you meet hereafter. May you find comfort in knowing that she shaped you into the dog owner/trainer/handler you became.

She's totally darling. You were very lucky to have her for such a long time....and she was lucky too.
