This is a 22 month old GSD female prelim taken on her last week of her heat cycle. What do you think she would grade with the OFA?

both hips have deep coverage, heads are nice and round, the right hip is better then the left as the space is much more parallel. both hips show a bit of more space (laxity) then is ideal and this could be associated with her heat cycle.

you may get good, or be completely surprised and they may give you something less due to this laxity....

why did you have x-rays so close to her heat cycle, and only two months before the x-rays could be submitted to OFA for certification?

the vet that did these hips did a very good job with positioning and exposure.....will you tell us who? so others in your area can know whow to take their dog to.....

I'd love for the OFA to have a list of competent vets' but they don't - I've asked.

Fan-freaking-tastic! Congrats! They look just like my one girl's who went excellent, but there's no telling what OFA will say on any given day. Nice hips!

Thanks for all your replys. I agree there is a little laxity due to her heat cycle, but had to get her prelimed because I am in the process of relocating(selling) her. HWY 29 vet clinic in Bertram TX is the one who shot her and Dr. Crouch is the vet who positioned her. I will give the results as soon as they come in.

She should be fast normal.  However understand that her heat cycle has nothing to do with the hips x -ray results.  Who told you that story ?
