This picture is when he was coming to me for his recall in Novice B
Hi
I am probably crazy but I entered my German Show line dog in Amateur-Owner Handler in the GSD National's
this year 2011 at the Kansas Expo Center. I attended a few conformation Class with my other gsd,but never
showed her when she failed OFA. I watch the Judges education video for the 2011, in how they are to judge
the gait & structure ect. at the GSDA website. When my dog is moving he has a beautiful gait, & nice top line
25cm HT weights 75-80 lbs has Titles CD in obedience and is close to finishing his CDX, Rally RE starting in RAE
at the show. Been working on getting him ready to show in herding will be doing the herding instinct test at Natls.
Has his CGC and will be testing him at GSDCA Temperment Test. He is the son of V Dux de Cuatro Flores SchH3,Kk1
1a and V Xandra Vom Naturpark Atmuhital SCHh3 Kk1 1a which makes him a grandson of USA and N American Sieger VA
Urban Glotsemeuer Schloss SchH3 Kkl 1a. Born in S. Fla at a Fleischerheim Kennel in Sept 2007. I am hoping this Topic
can be reopened by anyone in the current year, since the last posting were in 2005?

YES– they can be shown. As long, as they have straight backs and flowing gait.
I think that VA1 Connie vom Farbenspiel could be shown in AKC ring and get her CH title. Here's the picture of Ch. Kaleef's Geneva
PS (I know that she's from few years back...)

Major difference in those photos is due to stacking in my opinion. Both girls are beautiful.

Hi Reggie
Thankyou for your encouragement. I will try and add more pictures that would show him in the show stance.

Good for you!! I love to hear of Germans infiltrating the American ranks! Any of the working trials would be a piece of cake for our German dogs if the trainer knows what they are doing. Now the AKC show ring is a different story. Earlier this year I took my top German bitch to 2 AKC conformation shows and we did OK. You HAVE to a super gate in order to do well no matter how they stack. I stacked her in a German stack for one show and an American stack for the other. Not perfect stacks by any means but the difference didn't seem to matter, both shows she took 2 classes and lost out in BOB. We may try our hand again sometime, but she is now in Germany finishing her SchH titles and being bred. Here are the 2 photos. VERY different and both of the same dog.

In the pictures you show, to me there is major differences and in my opinion it's not stacking. Yes both are pretty, but look at the front assembly! Totally different from the feet on up to the head. The legs are longer, chest and upper arm are straight (not angled) the neck is longer in the American dog. The opposite is true of the German dog. Both have good heads and I love the pigment on the American dog! The backs are both straight, but the American dog's topline falls FAST from the topline. The German's is more gradual. The hocks are very long in the American and short on the German. All very typical of the the major differences in the types. Yes, as seen in the pictures of my bitch, stacking can make a huge difference! lol

djc,
Just one note - in comparison to Sch trials (where you have hardly or no distractions in or outside of arena) - AKC obedience trials are full of it and dogs are judged regardless of them... If 'German dogs' can do well under more chaos and with more dogs around (even spectators’ dogs) - yes it would be a piece of cake for them... And yes - there are a lot of 'German' dogs doing AKC obiedience, agility, etc. and it seems that nobody minds. It's a bit different story with owners of AmLines trying to get into Sch... I've heard that East Coast is a bit better in this regard...
Craftyrn,
Congratulations and keep going!
