There is no a fee,per say, and many times a broker will not tell you he is a broker, especially here..if you want to avoid that buy from someone that breeds, have a kennel, website..he can also find what you are looking for ( act as a broker ) for you ....Good luck

I have also heard of people who hire a 'Broker' to handle the import (Customs) paperwork. When importing, the animal has to clear Customs in the US, never mind he/she already cleared all the paperwork at point of origin. Customs office at most terminals work the 9-5, so if the animal is to arrive outside that time frame, the Broker will act as your 'agent' and receive copies of all paperwork to clear customs prior to arrival. Otherwise, the animal must be held till the paperwork clears.
I had flights arranged (import from Czech) so that arrival was during normal business hours. I cleared the paperwork myself, it was no big deal.
FYI, most dogs arrive on US at either JFK (New York) or Atlanta GA. They will not fly if the forecast is above a certain temp ( check with the airlines) because the dog will be in a VERY hot warehouse enviroment. Delta Airlines however is supposed to keep the dog in AC.
Hope this helps.
