Wow after visiting the petition for saving K9 Saxon from being destroyed I was so amazed of how many people have signed!
On http://www.petitiononline.com/k9saxon/petition.html OR
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?k9saxon
We have up to 1415 Total Signatures! and the signing keeps going!
You guys are doing such a great job into taking your time and effort into letting your friends / family / people on E-Groups/ Forums/etc know about this crisis. This is very exhausting for all of us and I'm sure that the family of K9 Saxon are very pleased of how many people have the same concerns about the welfare of their beloved dog that served his community.
What we all could do is gather up both petitions
On http://www.petitiononline.com/k9saxon/petition.html OR
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?k9saxon
and
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/SAVE_POLICEDOGSAXON999/
Write to your local news stations/ news papers/ National news/International news and let them know about this story.... Hopefully we'll get enough media to start interviewing the Gwent police department and question why do they kill off their retired police dogs.
Our mission and goals are to put MORE pressure against this police department.
I also suggest to the tax paying citizens of UK to write to their senator/congressmens office and complain about the Gwent police department about this issue.

Coinops,
as supporter and trustee of another dog charity your mail has reached me for comment. I could say how appalled and infuriated I am at Gwent's proposal but I'll cut to the chase; I'm a solicitor of 15 year's standing and whilst animal welfare isn't my specialisation I've had enough dealings with civil and governmental bodies to know what's likely to hit home with them. If you feel I can help on the legal or "PR" side of things please mail me. In the meantime, has anyone drawn this to the attention of the CEO of the Dogs Trust yet? Surely that would cause Gwent serious embarrassment?
Best Wishes,
H

I was wondering if your outcry to save Saxon could be translated to reach the German speaking members of the Database? I could give it a go if required.
And by the way, that was a great idea.
