Someone sent me a pedigree over e-mail and out of curiosity I started looking dogs up on here. I noticed a few "blank spots" and was wondering if I was allowed to add dogs on here, even though they are not my dogs?

Thanks,
~Dawulf~

I don't know the rules of PDB.. but I know if you placed info, of my dogs, without permission... I would not be happy.. It's always best to touch base with the individuals that own the dogs before placing them.. JMO

That has been something of a debate in the past.

Honestly, I have added quite a few of my own dogs' ancestors that I do not own. They are a part of
the history of my dogs and this is an open database.

I would caution that you only add info that you are 100% certain on.

Yes, you may enter them. If these are older pedigrees finding the owners is usually not an option and since pedigrees are public information, the owners do not need to be notified. Just make sure you triple search the database for the dogs you are going to enter as we get a lot of doubles and make sure the info you are adding is correct.

Pedigrees placed on PDB can be changed by anyone that has updated information.
