I had never tried it....but I heard on 4 different occasions about this "remedy" in last 2 months from people who do not know each other, from different states....
I must admit I laughed at it, but last person who emailed me about it included link to website below...I thought back to my Greek grandmother who used to give beer to her dogs...i always thought because she did not want to waste it, or maybe because dogs liked it, I never asked her...she never explained...but after seeing this and putting it together i am wondering if there is any truth to the practice..maybe not for HW but maybe for other reasons....any ideas?

Sure after drinking a few yourself, it appears to cure everything, and doesn't make everything stink like vinegar. I really like how it cured brain hookworm in ferrets, too. Who would have thunk it? Grandma just knew a little hops and barley was a treat, IMHO

Well I surely don't see a thing wrong with giving Guiness to your dog, I'm sure mine would love to have some. I like a good Guiness, but then I've been told that I am "beer snob" no Bud Lite for me.
By all means, buy Guiness for the dogs.
Although, I'm not sure I can take very seriously, an article in which microfilaria (baby heartworms) are referred to as microfleas.
The things you read.... bring on the beer. You know how about using something like maybe Flying Dog IPA.... wouldn't that be appropriate?
Yay for the beer dogs!
