I have found a less expensive way.
Here an example:
6 month-old dog in the 5th box from Frankfurt to Houston.
From Frankfurt 715 €uro incl Box.
From Amsterdam 571 €uro incl Box.

reho, what makes you think that this is less expensive?
Looking at your numbers, there is a difference of 144 Euros. But how do you get the dog/puppy to Amsterdam from Germany? That is a long way to drive from Frankfurt (or any other part of Germany). I know that, having been in Amsterdam and driven in from Germany and some of my relatives live fairly close to the Holland border (Muenster and Tecklenburger Land area). If you ask PetAir or Gradlyn to deliver the dog, you can add another 300 to 400 Euros (or more). Even if you find a private person, you need to reimburse him or her for the gas and that will be more than 144 Euros, unless that person does not mind paying out of his or her pocket because they like you. So, I do not see how your way is less expensive. All you need is look at a map to figure that out. The above quotes are from the shipper (PetAir or Gradlyn). That does not include the costs on getting the dog or puppy to the appropriate airport (Frankfurt or Amsterdam). I have done that for more years than I care to remember, so I am very familiar with the costs and hidden costs.
Good luck to you!
