In the USA, the County Sheriff is the final authority and it is his job to protect the County's citizens from federal tyranny. Here are two stories of how it can work.
The County Sheriff is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer and has final authority even over the Feds and that is also true of County and State Judges. This is not commonly known by most Americans and most alphabets either. It is amazing when Sheriffs take a stand against tyranny and uphold the laws. Here is an example of an amazing Sheriff who knows the laws and has taken a stand for the people who elected him.

Here is another example of state empowered officials taking a stand against tyranny of out of control feds. This was sent to me by a friend.
Hi xxxx, Yes Feds can be arrested, here is a story of one such occasion. Mine Owners went up into USFS road to go to mine with an "Investor" They brought the wives along and picnic lunch. Once up the road to where it narrowed, out jump the USFS Rangers in full battle gear ! Brakes slam, truck skids to stop. Guns drawn Out of the truck ! Hands on top of truck, everyone out now ! Ok ok what is going on? Shut up! You are all under arrest for Federal Trespassing and we will think of some more later...But, we are the mine owners and we have a right to ingress and egress on this old RS 2477 Roads (Old roads grandfathered in as open). Shut up you have only the right to remain silent...blaaaah. Sir you shouldnt talk to the Ladies like that! Whack ! Down on the ground, cuff him up! Show us you ID's now. ...Ok , Ok, Ok, OMG !!!! The other fellow was the San Berdo County JUDGE! and his wife !!! He smiled and said, All right boys, you are all under arrest for violation of our civil rights etc.. I'll be the one thinking of additional charges once we get downtown...He pulls out his phone and calls for backup which arrived asap and the Feds were cuffed up and put in Sheriffs cars...The picnic at the mine went fine for all four as planned ...Charges were later dropped after signing a court order not to do such things to citizens again ! SOB's should have been forced to sit asses jail for at least a week to think about how freaking stupid their actions were....and then loose their jobs.......What a bunch of "under sized" jerks making a mockery of their authority. Their actions were wrong in so many ways.

A link is provided to a situation which occurred and appears to be legitimate but has NOTHING to do with the anonymous details provided in the email.
The specifics in the email are not mentioned in the link and if one googles to find a record of the incident that is described in the email, there is no evidence that it occurred. If you google it, you will find no record of the incident.......not even in websites that love to rant about feds usurping state's rights .......... or the feds having a foreign army on US soil ready to put down any revolt by the citizenry! Just a figment of the imagination of the person who wrote the email........perhaps combined with a few doses of paranoia.
And of course Sitasmom, whose capacity for any due diligence is non-existent buys into the garbage!

Ya sure and how about this. Kinda backs up that der bogus email. (LOL)

Also there's legislation in multiple states called Sheriffs First (we needed it anyhows with all the corruption with oaths of office and elected officials
).. I think since 2009 we rounded up a woo[ping 33 states. (LMAO)Amazing isn't it ? What other legislation was passed that most the public doesn't know about ? lol YAY America !!!! VICTORY 4 our US Constitution, DOI and BOR when TSHTF is ours for the taking !!!! But of course.
"This 'Sheriffs First' bill would make it a state crime for a federal officer to arrest, search, or seize in the state (Montana in this example) without first getting the advanced, written permission of the elected county sheriff of the county in which the event is to take place. Locally elected sheriffs are accountable to the people and are supposed to be the chief law enforcement officer of the county, bar none. This bill puts teeth into the expectation that federal agents must operate with the approval of the sheriff, or not at all. Stitus, there was nothing misleading about the posting. It was bifurcated into two separate parts. The first a reference to a well documented case of an actual Sheriff standing up to feds acting badly and illegally.
The second was an email sent to me by a "friend" ie "friendly" of mine. You can chosse to disregard the second and accuse me of lying and faking it if you want, I don't care, but the truth is it really occurred and I was notified about it. I will not disclose the source who expects to kept confidential. I never said the second was documented, you suggest that I implied that. The second was a direct report to me of an incident from a close friend of one of the victims manhandled and tyrannized by the feds needlessly.
The first item is one that is well documented and you can call the sheriff and contact him and tell him you think he is a liar or faked the story and that the newspapaers and TV reports are concocted and lies too.

Not accusing you of lying or faking anything. All I am saying is that an incident such as your friend described where USFS rangers "in full battle gear" being arrested would have made news somewhere - not a blog but a media outlet, even if only a local one. I could not find any reference to it and so I question its credibility.
Re the overall issue of local/state/federal rights and who has supremacy in certain issues, that is a legitimate discussion and I did not question the veracity of those reports.

No, Keepthefaith, these incidents do not always make mainstream news and usually do not. Sometimes there may be a little article in a local paper, but often these do not break into mainstream media. I have been notified of many of these cases that never got into mainstream news, and some have included "arkensided" witnesses to federal corruption. For example a Park Ranger that noticed large crates of weapons and war supplies being stored in a fed park (now a UN biosphere, deeded to the UN by the US Govt). When the ranger then tried to get answers and expose this, the ranger is arkensided, and autopsy shows it was a murder, but it is still classified as suicide. Apeals to Congress and higher alphabet authorities get nowhere. As in so many cases involved such matters, it is covered up, twisted or surrounded by misinformation. Some of the more prominent cases like Danny Cassalaro break into the mainstream media, or the Colonel Sabo case, or the Ian Spiro case, but these are exceptions and usually due to persistent family members and the whole truth is oppressed.
