Suggestions on which airlines to use to ship a puppy/dog from the US to Canada?  Aside from the health certificate is there any other paperwork or things that need to be done?  Do the duty taxes apply if you are shipping directly into Canada or only if you pick up in the US and drive over the border?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Pretty sure Continental is the only airline shipping dogs into Pearson International in Mississauga; where are you shipping to?
In Ontario, buyer pays cargo fee + HST on the price of the dog at Customs.

Contenintal is pretty much the only airline that ships during hot weather.

The importer of the pup must do a bunch of paperwork and pay the taxes in advance.

If you search "importing a puppy from USA to Canada" you can find all the answers.

Continental is your best choice out of all the airlines. I just shipped in a puppy in March and another one 2 weeks ago.
A dream to deal with and they come in fed and watered.
All you have to do is when it comes in go and get the paperwork from whoever handle continentals cargo. Take those papers to customs and make sure u have the bill of sale to prove what you paid. Also have the immunization records. They will charge you the gst and hst stamp the forms and you go back to pick up your dog. Menzies handles the cargo here and i also had to pay them 55.00 . I have never had an issue with customs. All they care about is the gst/hst.
There are officers who are notified that a dog has landed and they check the dog before you get the actual papers.

Good Luck and enjoy your new puppy!!
