is it ok do use uncooked ground beef do train a puupy instead of hot dogs or store bought treats ?

69RS You can use the beef of course but the hot dogs might have more scent and easier to get the pup started. Cheese works as well but is sometimes too easy to see if you use it for tracking.

I should add that when compared to a bit of raw ground beef, a piece of raw hot dog would be much more pleasant to spit from one's mouth during attention focus building exercises. And possibly more sanitary. I would think that the hot dog has a bit more scent than the ground beef. The hot dog has the advantage whereas it can be easily broken into short pieces and kept ready as a quick treat. Bob-O

If you use "chicken hot-dogs" there is much less grease...I use a cheap brand and have done so for a long time...I'm in Florida and you have to worry about ants for tracking...so the less grease the better...and it's better for your dog too... ~Bob~
