I was having a discussion about military dogs and a lady stated that Cairo, the dog used in the Bin Ladin raid was a female. Was the dog a male or female?  She also stated that the dog was a GSD, and I found that to be inaccurate. Please paste a link of the source

No, but I know the guys that select and train the dogs.  I've trained with them and seen several of their dogs.  I've never seen a  female dog there.  Several of their trainers have  trained and certified Boomer and me as well as other guys I work with.  It is a fantastic program that they have with excellent trainers, handlers and dogs.

Don't know if it's correct, but the following article refers to Cairo as a "he."

My thoughts................ if the iidentities of SEALS personnel are confidential per se, then why would anyone divulge info on a K9 that could be linked/traced back to same???
