what does this mean? just while u  go on walks they pee in diff areas? a female that is very healthy no health problems?

Is it just a sign of a dominant female?

Yes, and I have one too, marks just like a male, and will hump any other dog that comes near me,- marking her territory. :)

I have a fixed mixed female like that. Not sure why she does it.

She is an alpha female with other dogs.

When we go on walks she will lift her leg and mark on various things.

The first ime I saw her lift her leg and pee on a tree....I thought what the H***.

Now... when people ask me why she does it I just tell them she has gender identitiy issues....surpriselaugh

I had a Mali like that.  She was spayed also and lifted her leg on everything--even tried it on me.  And yes she was a very dominant female.  I also had a female GSD and those 2 could get along fine then all of a sudden boom.  Had to keep them seperated.

I have a female who lifts her leg to mark, she's the farthest thing from dominant though.

My spayed female squats and lifts her leg. She marks more than our male. She is really quite amusing. She is dog dominant (although no aggression whatsoever), but extremely submissive with humans. She is a rescue and clearly was harshly treated (would cower and drop to the ground at the sight of a rope-like object or stick-like object when we first got her), so that probably explains her inner conflict.  She has other dog dominant behaviors as well.

My girl marks like that because she alpha, she's queen of all she surveys! However, I'm super alpha, just a smidge above her and we get along pretty good. :-)
