I co own this bitch with my breeder.  She just had a litter of 6 German Shepherd puppies this morning.  He said he has never seen this or heard of this.  Two of the puppies (male) have both of their front legs deformed.  From what he is describing to me, both of their front feet (at what we would call our wrist) are limp and turn outward(left foot turns out to the left and the right out to the right)
The puppies can not use their front feet at all.  They can use and scoot around on their back feet but just go in circles.

Any pictures?
Hope the rest of the litter is doing fine

From your description that sounds like a dwarf;  possibly something else along with it.  So sorry, what a nightmare.  Nan

sounds more like a swimmer.there is a website that shows how to correct this, but check with a vet.

By the time delivery was over vet is closed.  If they make it through the night we'll be taking them tomorrow.
My thoughts also was swimmers or dwarf.  But they are only a few hours old.  Doesn't swimmers happen after days or weeks?
Dwarf I don't know they were same size and weight as the rest of them.
Very big puppies from 17.8oz to 20oz.

I'm trying to load a picture, but keep getting the red x.

I don't see how "dwarf" would be concluded from that description.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

cull the entire litter ASAP

Really, Vikram?

Do you know that this is a genetic defect versus a congenital problem or an effect from some chemical or malnutrition? Would you cull an entire litter if only some of the litter had problems without knowing that it is a genetic problem?

I would not be hasty, it is possible that the positioning of the puupies was such they were cramped and the legs need to get stronger.  If they make it have them evaluated tomorrow and see what the vet thinks.
