I try to crosspost for Florida and Washington because I know people there. 1 because I lived in Florida and used to work for the Jacksonville Humane Society. Washington because I currently live here now. If I posted for every GSD I saw in every state, I would never have time to eat, sleep, work, see my family, and work my dogs.

Jaggirl, how often do you really need to eat? I mean, dogs are dying while you eat and sleep. Shame on you.

Jenni78, dangit you are right. I've been meaning to lose weight anyways.
But seriously, I do hope he gets out of there. Unfortunately, there are way too many in shelters. I hope to be able to foster when I am out of the Army but for now I don't have the time to add more dogs to my home.

Hi. I live an hour / half from panama city. How can I help ???? I will be glad to help if I can....

I think first we need to make sure he is still there, then get him pulled for a rescue if one will take him.

I'll take him! Those eyes tell a story, but that story doesn't define him. Though, I'm up in Canada, borders don't have boundaries when it comes to animals. He appears to be a lovely boy...just (previously) owned by some dumb stump who didn't have the wherewithall to care for him. These types of cases often make me wonder how many people circumvent the seller (aka: breeder), and just indiscriminately drop dogs off at kill shelters, without breeder/seller getting 1st right of refusal on a dog they sold. If I go through my local kijiji dog listings, I see this happening at a greater frequency. Not every breeder is heartless or careless. Some can make a bad judgement call, and find out too late. Can the OP keep this thread updated?

@kacey- Your comment about kijiji is dead on. I still have an email alert set-up for GSDs for sale on kijiji in my local area. I'm stunned by how many people are giving away young GSDs (around 2 years old) because they require "too much love", are dog aggressive, and need a whole lot of exercise ("needs farm to run around on"). What did these folks expect when they bought a GSD?

Any update on this dog?

UPDATE

I spoke to the shelter personnel this morning. He was called by a resident who reported him to the ACO as a stray, has a collar, but there have been NO calls about him in the ten days he's been there.

The dog IS safe for the moment. I put an IP on him and bought him some time, as his "review date" was actually "up." HE is healthy and said to be even more impressive in the flesh, according to shelter staff. He is listed as  a mix breed because volunteers do the petfinder stuff and they don't always recognize a purebred with an off-color...

The shelter is only open from 9am to 12 pm.
We're trying to get a dog pulled from a shelter in LA county, (which is hemmoraging GSD's nowadays)  today too.

LAKESIDE SAR- PLEASE CONTACT ME.

What is an IP? How much time does he  have?

From the photos, he looks in good condition, not a stray.
