OMG poor boy--looking into his eyes makes me so sad.  I know they list everything as a mix but who came up with Mali?  I posted him on my wall on facebook, maybe one of those peeps close to Fla. will help.......................

He looks exactly how my dog would look after awhile in the same situation. People forget how much these dogs can sense from their surroundings. I'm betting that expression could change in a heartbeat on his way out the door to someone's car, waiting to take him out of danger.

A while living in a rental house as a foster, waiting for a forever home, is a LOT better than leaving out the back door in a plastic garbage bag. At the very least, we could try to buy him some time.

Yeah, emoore. Because he's a dark sable. They do tend to catch my eye for some odd reason.

Thank you bhaugh. I'm just out of surgery this week, can't sit up very long at a time yet and still tire quickly, even just reading and typing. Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
You have my e-addy and phone number I think. My sense is that this is a very well-bred working-line GSD. The face looks EXTREMELY familiar to me... and, given the location, I might know where he came from, have a better chance of saving him, if I had more information, better pix.

Thank you for caring.

I just sent out some emails. I am from Florida but transplanted to Washington. Hopefully we can get this poor boy pulled.

I'll call the shelter first thing in the am, before they open, to see what the dog's status is. Hopefully he is still alive. I already sent an e-mail, but a lot of times shelter staff don't check their inboxes before they start "making room in the shelter."

I just cross posted this to another forum as well.

Sure do wish this community would mobilize this way for every good-tempered GSD that's in a kill shelter through no fault of their own, and not just the ones with pretty colors.

We can't save the whole world, Emoore.

Perhaps if breeders would breed decent dogs, fewer would end up in places like this, and then when they did, they wouldn't be so damn overcrowded that nice guys like this get PTS. Your def. of "good tempered" and mine might be quite different. The fact is, purebred makes little difference. Most of them are haphazard pets, bred by thoughtless idiots.

And please spare me the exceptions....of course there are exceptions, but I'm not wrong.
