New classified search - Page 1

Decided to post this here in case my reply  to another post got lost:

I have been working on getting the classified section to work similar to the new breeders search.    I have also joined the GSD entries with all others,  making it easier to list classifieds.  (my original design choice was not good,  you may have noticed the server going down here and there tonight as I have been doing stuff to it

After I finish the design I will remove the group entries on the left navigation and just keep the "latest classifieds" and "advanced search"

I really would like constructive comments and how you want to have this working.   Now is the time,  :)  Im doing the work.  

The state is missing from the US classifieds since I only added a state entry for the US, today.  

I think I should add a checkbox for groups,  to allow even more filtering..   How does that sound?

Looks like it's off to a good start! Along w/ the check boxes, what about adding a key word(s) search function? Not sure how difficult it would be to add that?
Makes searching for specific dogs/items easier & quicker....

seems to work great.  another fine accomplishment.

just an idea for future,,, how about a live chat room?  or maybe a way of showing who is online at the present time.  that way if you wanted to talk to them faster it would be possible?

just something to think about.

Looking super, loving all the changes so I thought I'd pass this thought onto you. Is there a way for us to be sent an email notification when someone contacts us through the PM box? Just wondering because I don't always remember to come on here daily when I have an ad running and I like to answer inquiries as quickly as I can but if I forget to look then I can't answer right away obviously. Maybe people could select in their profile whether or not they wanted an email to notifiy them of a PM or not since I know it could get to be too much for those that use it on here to communicate on, but those of us that only get PMs for our ads might want to be able to utilize that function. Hope it helps and that what I said made sense LOL :) Thanks for all your hard work, it is all looking great!

i tried to work it this morning April 12 and it gave me an error message -
"must select a country" eventhough I had selected one.

maybe a glitch?

Maybe you forgot to select also a classified group to work with?

Hey Oli,  I am having the same issue.  Coming up with an error "Must select Country, Must select group"  and I have both selected. 

Oli I am having the same problem! I liked the way it was, it just seemed to be easier to navigate to what you wanted without having to go through two extra pages. It was pretty straight forward and very obvious to new people where to look for what they wanted.
