I have been working on the breeders/kennel section. I fixed the update problem (i.e. not being able to) and added states (for the USA folks)
I have been working on getting the selection interface working better then the huge list that is.
You can see the test here: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/test.html
It's still in developement so don't be surprised if it stops working all of the sudden. or Strange Things™ happen. But I would like to know about glitches or an idea for improvement.
I am currently doing research to see if its feasible (or possible) to make a State Names drop down list if you select US. (and dissapear if you deselect)
If all are happy with the change I will add the advanced search also to the classifieds.

One suggestion that I've been wishing you had for awhile now, especially in the US, is breeder catagories depending on which "lines" they specialize in. Same with the classifieds section, but moreso for the breeders.

Why not have a special section for those who are wanting to inform others of bad experiences with purchases or dealings with breeders, or about those selling dogs and/or puppies?

Fact is that I enjoy this work.
But I have officially moved the new setup to its correct place. ( List breeders )
Will be destroying the test.html

The off topic section proves it self and frees the other sections from any OT subjects
But:-
"Why not have a special section for those who are wanting to inform others of bad experiences with purchases or dealings with breeders, or about those selling dogs and/or puppies?"
Really we do not need this section as it could/would lead this Database and the poster into Legal Proceedings. Surely if you have a bad experience then list the name but all personal info etc. should be conducted by PM or by e-mail.
It would only take one malicious/untrue comment posted in revenge or spite to bring down this site.
I think the Moderators should remove any such postings immediatly and warn the poster
edit:-spelling corrections

Some threads are removed, but many remain and are allowed. Seems the Moderators are smart enough and can tell which ones are posted just to start trouble. Those of that nature, are removed. Its the one's that are genuine and are actually trying to help others avoid a bad situation that I was suggesting a section for. It was just a thought.

I think the best way to do this is to do what ebay, elance and such companies are doing. Setup a brokerage (make a deal with some international bank), make the site an escrow focus where buyer puts the money in escrow and the seller has to fullfill all promises to get it released by the purchaser.
Escrow has been a valid purchasing option that protects buyers and sellers for hundred of years but has been mainly used for very large sums. Due to the nature of the internet and how many make a living of conning honest people escrow has become widespred even in regular small amounts today.
See the elance info : http://help.elance.com/forums/30972/entries/34480
This way, ppl can publicly evaluate sellers (and sellers purchasers) without the threat of lawsuits (honest opinions on the transaction and sold product, not libel)
So you tend to trust those with a long working history with many good evaluations.
